Position Summary
The Facilities Management, Asset Specialist is a key
position responsible for asset management,
maintenance management, energy management,
mobile and the day-to-day aspect of property
management for all Stores across Canada. The
Faculties Management, Asset Specialist plans and
administers the maintenance programs and budgets
for all owned and leased buildings, works and
equipment. The purpose of this position is to provide
frontline service for the facility management team to
ensure the successful competition of Walmart facility
needs. This position ensures timely and quality
service delivery to internal Walmart customers and
follows up to ensure customer satisfaction. There is
direct financial accountability for General Ledger
categories assigned, this financial accountability will
vary depending on assigned asset categories in the
range of $10M-$12M in Opex spend.

Position Responsibilities
1. Accountable for profit and loss management and
results relating to specific FM categories including
short-term and long-term planning, as well as
proactive/reactive management to ensure
budgets, forecasts and actual commitments are
met or exceeded, as well as
communicating/reporting results to appropriate
cross functional partners. Review historical
financial analysis and identify trends and areas of
improvement for review with cross functional
partners.
2. Implement National/Regional or Local vendor
regular maintenance programs as required by
type of asset, to ensure consistency in operation,
reduction in repair costs & regulation compliance
with goal of extending the effective useful life of
all assets.
3. Research National Service Providers, as well as
qualified Local Service Providers for bidding and
entering into a contractual Agreement. Complete
preliminary or draft contract document
requirements for review with FM Managers
4. Ensure that applicable training & preventative
maintenance programs are developed, executed
and monitored in every store (per asset).
5. Collaborate with Design, Construction,
Procurement, Risk Management, Fixture &
Equipment Managers and Operations to ensure
compliance of all health & safety programs in all
locations. Coordinate special projects with Store
Set, Store Renovation and Merchandising Teams
as required.
6. Process recurring billing and all invoice payments,
approval of vendor work as outlined within
financial sign-off thresholds using applicable
CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management
System).
7. Ensure maintenance of assigned asset categories
in all Wal-Mart & Supercentre locations conforms
to highest standards, resolving any
repair/maintenance problems immediately.
Monitor vendor performance to ensure quick
response to store repair requests and to ensure
high quality of work at competitive rates.
8. Assist in the development of annual Capital
Budgets and Business Cases relating to specific
asset categories and ROI studies for repair
proposals vs. purchase of new asset (roof,
equipment, etc.)
