Some of the nature’s process are slow and
gradual.
Weathering – is the breaking of rocks into
smaller particles when they are exposed to the
elements of nature like wind, rain, sunlight,
rushing water, tidal waves, ice, and changing
temperatures.
Erosion – happens when rocks, soil, and other
sediments are carried away or moved from
their original location.
Deposition – occurs when the eroded
materials are deposited in a new location.
Rapid processes on the earth’s surface also
occur. They may be quick and sudden,
changing the landscape entirely.
Landslide - earth materials like rock, soil,
mud, and sand slide down the slope of a
mountain or hill to a lower area or straight to
its base.
Volcanic Eruption – may cause a huge
change in the landscape of the volcano’s
surrounding area.
Tsunami - may transform shorelines due to
its greater force.
Earthquake - is the shaking of the ground
felt when there is a sudden movement in the
tectonic plates.
Human activities which affect the
transformation of the earth’s surface such as
industrialization, farming, and land
reclamation.
