Physical Education

Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management to promote societal fitness.

Performance Standard:
The learner maintains an active lifestyle to influence the physical activity participation of the community and society.

I. Objectives:

1. Assesses physical activity, exercise and eating habit.


2. Expresses a sense of purpose and belongingness by participating in physical activity related community services and
programs.
2.1 Determine the resting heart rate and your maximum heart rate

II. Subject Matter;


Topic: Physical Fitness
Materials;
1. Teaching Materials in P.E and Health Grade 10
2. Teaching Guide in P.E and Health Grade 10
3. Meter stick
III. Lesson Proper:
A. Warm-Up exercise
a. Jog around for 5 minutes
b. Isometric neck exercise
c. Upper trapezius stretch
d. Lateral arm stretch
e. Triceps stretch
f. Call-muscle stretch
g. Harmstring stretch
h. Inner thigh stretch
i. Buttock stretch
j. Side hurdle stretch
k. Achiles tendon degrees
B. Activity:
1. This activity we perform is war-up and stretching exercise to prepare the body for any task.
2. Then we will determine our heart rate and the maximum heart rate

IV. Abstraction:
Discuss the Physical Fitness Assessment of what to do in any of the activity

a. Curl-up
b. Push-up
c. Trunk lift
d. 50 yard dash
e. 1-foot stand

V. Application:
Record the result of the physical Fitness Assessment Test, and give them the interpretation

VI. Generalization:
You are successful in conditioning your heart rate by knowing the benefits of active participation in any of the activity.
Now you are ready to build muscle strength with the activities you are about to engage.

1. Describe the meaning and importance of managing lifestyle and weight.
2. Determine risk factor for lifestyle diseases (obesity, diabetes, heart diseases)

Subject Matter;
Topic: Healthy Lifestyle and Risk Factor
Materials;
4. Teaching Materials in P.E and Health Grade 10
5. Teaching Guide in P.E and Health Grade 10

Lesson Proper:
Activity
l. Essay: what can you say to make your lifestyle healthy?
Explain and give example.
Copy the graph on page 10 and fill it up
C. Activity:
It is very important to be mindful of your food intake and physical activities because these greatly affect your
overall health your food intake and physical activity affect your weight, which consequently affect your BMI

Abstraction:
Discuss the meaning and the importance of managing lifestyle and weight, and active recreational activities.
Solve the BMI of every student and identified their standards.

Application:
Have a sentence completion on page 16.
Discuss these questions with the group.
1. What activities were commonly marked?
2. How many minutes or hours were usually spent on these activities?
3. Which among the activities do most of the group spend time on?
4. What can you say about the activities commonly marked and the time spent doing them? Classify the
activities do you enjoy most? Why?

Generalization:
It is important that your weight is within what is recommended for your height. Conscious health food choices and
participation in regular moderate to vigorous physical activities along with enough rest would definitely help improve or
maintain your BMI.
