buenos días compañeros y profesora, mi nombre es tatiana y su nombre es tania, el dia
de hoy vamos a hablar acerca del verbo modal auxiliar would.

WOULD: Would' es el pasado de will en algunos casos y verbo auxiliar en otros. 'Would'
es un auxiliar modal. Tiene varios usos (formar condicional, peticiones corteses,
hábitos del pasado...)
Would es un condicional, y depende de cada oración se interpreta presente, pasado o futuro.

Si te quieres referir a un presente: 

I would like to go today to go swimming because it's so warm. ---> Me gustaría ir hoy a la piscina.
porque hace mucho calor.

Si te quieres referir a un futuro: 

When I'm older, I would like to study Medicine ---> Cuando sea mayor, me gustaría estudiar
medicina

Si te quieres referir a un pasado

When I was young, I would have studied French career ---> Cuando era pequeño, tendría que
haber estudiado la carrera de francés. 

Es depende de cada contexto, según el énfasis que le des.

If I were rich I would travel around the world. (Si fuera rico viajaría alrededor del mundo) 

el significado se dice en español.

 SHAPING THE CONDITIONAL: FORMAR EL CONDICIONAL

Formamos el condicional utilizando el auxiliar “would”, más un verbo.

cuando se le aplica como auxiliar a otro verbo, le transforma su significado en
condicional.

would be   …sería
would go   …iría
would come…vendría
would have …tendría
would like   …gustaría
el uso en inglés.

there are two ways: existen dos formas

the first: la primera

1. to speak in the conditional mode: para hablar en el modo

condicional.
We have three situations: tenemos tres situaciones

 the second conditional: el segundo condicional

El condicional se refiere a acciones o estados que pueden ser vistos como hipotéticos.
Cuando usamos would en el modo condicional en inglés referimos a ese modo como el
segundo condicional, y presentamos la situación irreal con la conjugación “if” (si)
se refiere a una condición posible y su resultado probable

for example: por ejemplo:

If we had time, we would go. Si tuviéramos tiempo, iríamos.

Nobody will notice if you make a mistake. Nadie se dará cuenta si se comete un error.

 express opinions and preferences: expresar opiniones y preferencias

for example: por ejemplo

I wouldn’t work for that company.  Yo no trabajaría para esa empresa.
I would love to live here.  Me encantaría vivir aquí.

 offer or ask for something in a polite manner: ofrecer o pedir algo de una manera
cortés

for example: por ejemplo

Would you open the door please?  ¿Me abrirías la puerta por favor?
Would you help me?  ¿Me ayudarías?
I would like the vegetable soup, please. Quisiera la sopa de verduras, por favor.

Verbo modal: Los verbos modales son verbos auxiliares que no pueden funcionar como

un verbo principal, a diferencia de los verbos auxiliares “be”, “do” y “have” que sí pueden
funcionar como un verbo principal. Los verbos modales expresan modalidad. Pueden
expresar habilidad, posibilidad, necesidad u otra condición.
2. to talk about the past: para hablar del pasado

We have three situations: tenemos tres situaciones

 future in the past: futuro en el pasado

 We would use to look to the future from the past. usamos would
para mirar hacia el futuro desde el pasado.

for example: por ejemplo

I was sure that you would be here.  Estaba segura de que estarías
aquí.
She said that she would call you. Ella dijo que te llamaría.

 decline in the past: negarse en el pasado

for example: por ejemplo

She wouldn’t say. Ella no quiso decir.

He wouldn’t help us.  Se negó a ayudarnos.

 narrate the imperfect: narrar el imperfecto

 We would use to tell a story about a recurring activity in the past. Usamos
would para relatar una historia sobre una actividad que se repetía en el
pasado.
for example: por ejemplo
On Fridays we would play soccer. Los días viernes jugábamos fútbol.

 It is common to use this building for stories and tales: Es común usar esta
construcción para narraciones y cuentos:

As a child, he would often miss school. De niño, solía faltar mucho a la escuela.
