Xerox Developer Program: SDK Validation Report for XYZ Access Server

1Preface

LY
General Purpose and Audience
This document details the compatibility tests conducted with XYZ Access Server based on
the features implemented in the SDK as specified originally within our development proposal.
This is outlined in the Test Configuration Table (next page). The conclusions and
recommendations made within this report apply only to the specific configurations & features

N
with the equipment named, and are not intended as a blanket endorsement of any other
possible configurations or features.
Furthermore, this test is by no means the limit of what can be achieved while using XYZ
Access Server with Xerox EIP-enabled Multi Function Printers (MFP’s).

O
The Audience for this report is:
rd
• You, the 3 Party Developer/Partner involved with the test and reporting these results
(This report is considered Xerox Internal Use Only and will not be shared outside Xerox)
E
• The Alliance and Partnership Management (A&PM) Xerox Validation Test Team
• The Xerox SDK Developer Program Manager
• The Xerox Program Manager responsible for your relationship (If applicable)
PL

Note to All Readers of this Report

It is strongly recommended that the reader of this SDK Self Validation Report review it in its
AM

entirety, as both the SDK validation process and scope of the validation is limited to the
configurations detailed in this report.

While Xerox does not guarantee or warrant that XYZ Access Server version 1.1 will meet
your requirements, we do believe that the test results as reflected in this report are accurate.

Pass / Fail
Receiving a “Pass” indicates that, through testing of the above stated Product version
EX

with the Xerox platform(s) and Software versions reported, Xerox has concluded that
the feature level interface and / or functions indicated in the scope of the validation
processed by the configuration(s) listed have been successful.

Receiving a “Fail” rating indicates that Xerox has concluded the feature level interface
and / or functions indicated in the scope of the validation have not been successfully
processed by the specific configuration listed.

Workflow Diagram
Installation of XYZ Access Server and associated EIP application were successfully completed
prior to this workflow description and are not comprehended in this report. However, it is
understood that the XYZ Access application was successfully registered and installed on each
MFP tested.

LY
Below is a basic description of XYZ Access Printing workflow used for this test.

XYZ Access Printing

Objective:

N
XYZ Access Printing allows users to send print ready jobs to any print device on users network
transparently via the ZYZ Access Server. Users can then access/release print jobs after logging
into the MFP. XYZ Server will also track and indicate active and non active jobs for each user
account.

O
Workflow:
This workflow diagram shows which actions are done by the user and what happens
automatically on the XYZ server.
E •Enter User ID Code on MFP Panel

•Select documents to print
Input •Release documents MFP UI panel
PL
•XYZ Access retreives the selected
documents and indicates that the XYZ Access Server
Processing documents are no longer active

•Users selected documents are

printed on MFP Xerox MFP

Output

Basic steps in the XYZ Access Workflow:

1. System Administrator registers users into the XYZ Access Server and assigns access
rights. (color printing, Max job size, storage limits, etc.)
EX

2. User submits Print jobs to XYZ Access Print Server.

3. User goes to desired printer to print jobs and logs in with unique ID code (Pin)
4. All waiting print jobs for user are displayed and user selects those they wish to release
and print.
5. Jobs complete, user logs out or system will time out and log them out.
6. Jobs that have been printed are tagged as completed and saved for period of time set by
Administrator or until Max storage is exceeded. Oldest jobs will be deleted and
overwritten by new submissions once limit or time is reached.

3Test Summary

LY
This section contains a summary of the SDK validation tests performed and the overall test
results. . In addition, the pages following this summary provide greater detail for those readers
that would like to better understand of the results and any specific interactions with the Xerox
devices tested.

Test Configuration/Results

Recommendations & Caveats

Although the tests and configuration described above passed self validation, the following
caveats and recommendations were noted:

• Caveat: If a user exceeds their max storage limit on XYZ Server and attempts to add an

LY
additional print request the system will not warn users that their oldest documents will be
deleted to make space for new print request.
o Recommendation – Users are required to monitor and manage their storage
requirements, if they feel they need more space or time to store print ready documents
they should request this from their Systems Administrator. This is not a bug, this is
working as designed.

• Caveat: User ID Numbers can only be alpha numeric and must be a minimum of 8 Characters

N
but not more then 10.

• Caveat: Users should log out once they have completed their session on MFP, if they do not
and the MFP System Timeout is set to long or turned off there could potentially be other users

O
accessing incorrect account.
Recommendation – Users should always hit the Exit button on UI to log out of XYZ Access Server. It is
also recommended to set the system Timeout to less than 1 Min to avoid accidental walk-up users having
access to previous users part jobs.
