1.3 Lithium Battery Safety

Basic Requirements
 When handling lithium batteries, do not place them upside down, tilt them, or bump
them against the ground.
 Keep the battery loop disconnected during installation and maintenance.
 Do not charge a battery when the ambient temperature is less than the lower limit for the
operating temperature; otherwise, a short circuit may occur inside the battery.
 Do not throw a lithium battery in fire.
 When maintenance is complete, return the waste lithium battery to the maintenance
office.
 If new batteries are installed during an AC power failure, the batteries may not work
temporarily.
 Install batteries in a dry, clean, and ventilated environment that is free from corrosive
substances such as organic solvents and sources of ignition. Do not expose batteries to
sunlight or water.

Preventing Battery Short Circuit

Battery short circuits will generate high transient currents and release a great deal of energy,
which may cause personal injury.

If conditions permit, disconnect the batteries in use before performing any other operations on
them.

Preventing Battery Overdischarge

After you connect batteries, ensure that the battery fuse is disconnected or the circuit breaker
is OFF before powering on the power system. This prevents battery overdischarge, which
damages batteries.

1.4 Cable Layout

 User-supplied cables must meet the VW-1 testing requirements.
 Cables should be more than 20 mm away from heat source components or areas,
preventing direct damage (melting) to the insulation layer or functional deterioration
(aging or broken).
 The cable bending semidiameter should be greater than or equal to five times the cable
diameter.
 Ground cables must not be bound to or tangled with signal cables. A certain distance
should be left between them to reduce interferences.

2.1 Overview
The distributed power system includes the power supply units (PSUs) (DPU30A-N06A1 &
DPU30D-N06A1) and the lithium batteries (DBU20B-N12A1 & DBU20B-N12A2). It is an
indoor or outdoor wall-mounted power solution that is highly efficient, compact, lightweight,
easy to install, and does not require parameter configuration or maintenance. The power
system is designed for wireless micro base stations and supports online capacity expansion.
The DPU30A-N06A1 works as follows: when the AC input is normal, the AC output port
supplies power to loads through the bypass and the DC output port supplies stable 48 V DC
power to charge batteries; if the AC input is abnormal, the output voltage from the DC port is
converted into stable 220 V AC power which is then supplied to the loads.
The DPU30D-N06A1 converts AC power or HVDC power into stable 48 V DC power.
The lithium battery provides backup power for communications equipment.

3.1 PSU (DPU30A-N06A1)

Functions
The PSU integrates power rectification, distribution, and monitoring. It converts AC power
into stable 48 V DC power to charge batteries. When the AC input is normal, the bypass
supplies power to loads. If the AC power fails, the energy provided by the batteries is inverted
to AC power for loads. This design ensures reliable power supply. The PSU also generates
fault alarms, and reports monitoring data to the upstream network management system (NMS)
in real time.
