FOR THE PREPARATION OF MBA Dissertation

Introduction
This document covers the general rules of format and appearance. It is the student’s responsibility
to read and follow the requirements presented here and to submit documents of the highest
quality. The final copies will not be accepted with corrections, insufficient margins, or if they are
of such poor quality that reproduced and/or microfilmed copies cannot be made.

The final version of the thesis must be free from typographical, grammatical and other errors
when submitted as Examination Copy and Library Copy. While this is the responsibility of the
student, the supervisor should not sign off on theses that are not, to the best of their knowledge
error free.

THESIS
The arrangement of parts of MBA Thesis
The sequence in which the thesis material should be arranged and bound should be as follows:
1. Cover page
2. Inside cover page
3. Candidate/s declaration
4. Dedication page (Optional)
5. Abstract
6. Acknowledgements
7. Table of Contents
8. List of Tables
9. List of Figures
10. List of appendices
11. List of Symbols, Abbreviations or Nomenclature (Optional)

12. Chapters
For MBA dissertation, Maximum Number of Chapters are restricted to 5
Chapter 1 Introduction
Chapter 2 Literature Review
Chapter 3 Research Methodology
Chapter 4 Results and Discussion OR Findings
Chapter 5 Conclusion and Future work

13. Appendices
14. References
For MBA Minimum References must be 20. Follow APA style for referencing (The style
manual is available through Google Search).

15. Color Codes for Report/Thesis

17. Number of copies to be submitted: 02 (one for the Department, one for the Supervisor). The
students may prepare one more copy for themselves.

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF THESIS

Please follow a consistent format and font throughout the thesis. Your thesis should be written in
correct English, free from grammatical and typographical errors. It should have a professional
look.
Each chapter should begin from a fresh page.
Recommended font size: Times New Roman (12 point) with 1.5 spacing. Headings should be in
bold, title case.
 Margins: One inch margin on all sides. You may leave 0.5” margin on the side for the ease of
binding.
Paper: A4 size
Page numbers: All the pages in the preliminary section should have page numbers small case
Roman numerals (i, ii, etc.). All the chapters should have page numbers in Arabic numerals (1, 2,
etc.). The page numbers should be bottom centered.
All figures and tables have to be numbered and place in a logical sequence within the text. The
caption of the figures should come below the figures, and that of the table should come above the
table.
Copy of the questionnaire and supporting materials should be included as appendices.

References: Recommended style: APA (American Psychological Association).

Plagiarism: Remember that you are the author of your thesis. All your work should be
original, i.e., written in your own words. Do not copy-paste from the Internet/ printed
sources. Do not pass on work written by others as your original work. If at all, you are
referring to a work/ text created by someone else, then proper referencing/ citation of the
quoted work/ text must be done. Your thesis must be an original contribution, free from
plagiarism.

In all aspects, adhere to the highest standard of research ethics and academic integrity
while carrying out your thesis/dissertation.
