Firstly author gives us the general information about American dream, which is after followed by problem that
“American Dream” is in danger due to financial problems. After what this claim is supported by some reasonable
data from The Economic Policy Institute (EPI)

The reason why I think that this type of persuasion is effective is that author starts with unshakable idea of
equality which is the idea of “American Dream”. After what she claims that the most valued characteristic of
USA is under danger which of course touches the reader. It nearly impossible to not be hooked by this statement
if you are American.
