Course Description
A Level Chemistry builds on ideas and concepts taught at IGCSE. The topics are
made interesting and relevant with an emphasis on real-life chemistry. As students
progress through the course content is revisited developing students’ understanding
and confidence. All the theoretical work is underpinned by practical work that
enables students to improve their understanding of theory and develop important
practical skills.

Course Structure
This course will be delivered entirely online through the Google Classroom. You will
use your school email account to login to the Google Classroom. If you forget your
email username and password, please contact the school IT Department or
Homeroom Teacher.

In Google Classroom, you will access online lessons, course materials, resources,
and assignments. At the designated time, we will participate in a blend of self-paced
and group-paced activities using Zoom and/or alternative video conference tools.
Attendance will be recorded!

Check your Google Classroom routinely for new updates!

Grading Policy

Graded Course Activities


The following are the activities and the grade percentage:

20% Online class assignment


Video assignment, Project assignment, Hands-on activities

30% Quizzes

The remaining percentages are allocated to midterm and final exams.


Late Assignment Policy
Be sure to pay close attention to the deadline. There will be a deduction for a late
submission from the assignment and/or quiz score you get.

20% Late one day

50% Late more than a day

Viewing Grades
Points you receive for graded activities will be posted to the Edunav system.

Rules of Online learning


1. Type 'present' in the chat room when you are online. When you leave the meeting while
online session without any reasons, teacher will mark as “absent”
2. If you would like to ask a question, please type “question” in the chatroom and teacher will
unmute to an asking student
3. No eating and drinking during chemistry online session
4. Your full name should be used as your username
5. Using emoticon is not allowed to use during online session
6. Students and teachers should dress well during learning online session
7. Chatroom must be used for the learning purposes.
8. Students and teachers must use proper language. Any offensive language is prohibited

Participation
Students are expected to participate in all online activities assigned.

Complete Assignments
All assignments must be completed by the assignment due date and time. Late or
missing discussion assignments will affect the student’s grade.

Office Hours
There will be open-discussion for topics you may find difficult on the office hours
assigned. This discussion will be online. Monday to Friday at 14.00 – 15.00.

The discussion link will be posted in Google Classroom. Check your Google
Classroom routinely!
