What is Your Official Name?

Okay, thank you, my name is Vonnie Lee Randolph. I am sixty-five years old, and I was

born on 12 February 1950. I am a citizen of the United States, a state of North California. I was

born in a place known as Edgecombe County, and that is the place where I was raised.

Edgecombe County is my ancestors’ land implying that none of the people of my generation who

was an immigrant to this area. Even my grandparents were living in the same place.

How Far Did You Reach Academically and Working Experience?

Although there have been several and effective revolutions in the field of education and

the entire education system, during my education time, the levels were differently identified. I

attended almost all my levels of education until the final one, 10 th-grade level. At this point, I felt

that I had acquired enough and sufficient skills to secure jobs in the job market. Since the first

step up to this level, I could see and experience a new thing, and generally, I was experienced by

the time I was in my last level. During those days, class size was small, not like now, where you

have to be subdivided into manageable subgroups.

With the skills that I had equipped myself with, I could work in different places.

However, I managed to work with three organizations for the whole of my life. For the first time,

I worked with a tobacco factory. I can see the work nowadays has advanced and you people are

prone to technological production methods, among other technologies. During our time, an

organization was labor-intensive than capitalization, as evident in modern organizations. I started

as a junior work in the department of marketing. Later I moved to be the departmental manager,

whereby by the sixteenth year, I was the vice president of the entire organization. Due to

unavoidable circumstances and monotony of staying in the same company for long, I moved to

the second organization where I worked with Sarah lee as the director. It only took me five years

in the Sarah lee. Finally, I worked with a glen ark. Also, in this third organization, I stayed for

five years. So I have been in the job market for twenty-six years. After that, I felt I had

accumulated enough for me to eat during my retirement, and thus I had to quit the job market. I

wish I can get myself in the same jobs and careers, and I could maximize the opportunities.

However, due to technological changes, I know it is hard to meet the career and job requirements

in the job market today.

Before You Could Join These Various Organizations What Were Your Dreams and

Hobbies?

My professional career never built from my dreams or hobbies. My dreams and hobbies

were nothing to do with work. The typical things that I used to do daily formed my hobbies. Like

my house chores such as general cleaning, cooking for our family, and looking after the kids.

Additionally, when I got free time, I had to go out with my friends and also this formed part of

my hobbies. However, my hobbies now have changed a bit based on my age. I am interested in

playing puzzles alongside the general cleaning of my house. My dreams since before were to

have my family and bring up my children. Therefore, both my hobbies and dreams never

contributed anything to my profession.

How about the History of Your Family Since You Got Married Up To Now?

I was married at seventeen years and blessed with two kids. Allow me to say I see a lot of

changes in the field of marriage and family. People are now marrying at older ages than then. I

wish I could go back to my young age; I could marry even earlier and have a greater family. I

missed the moments when we got married since nothing belonged to anyone. What I had

belonged to my husband and whatever he had belonged to me. We were family but not material-

oriented. Unfortunately, my partner was required to participate in Vietnam's war.

For this reason, I was forced to live alone at home. The moments of loneliness and

hardships hit our family. I was left with my firstborn, who was a girl while she was nineteen

years old. During my life history, I have witnessed many changes in social affairs. For instance, I

grew up with people around me who kept on becoming friendlier. Following the closeness to

each other, the entire community became closer to each and every person in it. The closeness

made each of us get to know each other more. Consequently, and the individual was safe and

could walk from place to place freely. Those days life was enjoyable, not like nowadays where

everyone is walking with a gun, and the vulnerable are exposed to sexual abuse and human

trafficking.
