I-FIX manual

1. Double click on “I-FIX” icon on desktop.

2. Setting for SCU.

a. Window will appear.

b. Click on “SCU” for running the system configuration. A window will appear.

c. Click on configure on menu bar. Then select on SCADA in the list dropdown.
d. Click on SCADA and perform the process as follows.

Select database name. Then I/O driver name, select driver and click on add button.
Select on I/O driver,

Click ok and on add. You can delete any driver by selecting it and click on delete.

e. Creating new project:-

Click on paths in dropdown of configure. Following window will appear.
Select the base path where you want to store or create new path by selecting button across
it. Select path and click on “ok“ button.
Then click on “change base” shown. Then click on “change project”

It will ask for “generating the default files in new project”. Click on “yes”. It will
automatically generate the files in new project folder.

f. Select alarms from configure dropdown as shown.

A popup will appear, select the alarm printer from alarm and make it enable.
You can change its format by clicking “modify” button.

Select the format as per your requirement.

By selecting alarm summary service you can modify the procedure.

g. Select network from the configuration dropdown.

A window will appear as shown.

You can connect to other network through TCP/IP.

h. Select tasks from the configuration dropdown.

Following window will appear. This window is used for defining the programs or supporting
files to open while working with system.

Select the file name you want it to be open while starting the I-fix system.

Select the name and select how you want to open file in background or normal by clicking
them on left side, then click on add. Click on ok button.
 Save and Close the SCU window.

3. Starting with workspace.

a. Again double click on I-FIX icon

b. Select for going to workspace window.

c. Following window will appear.

d. Creating database:- click on application on the menu bar, select the database manager
on left side. Following window will appear.
Click on ok and it will show all initial tags. You can import or export the tags by selecting the import or
export option given on menu bar.

Creating new tags double click on the empty row or click on add button on menu bar.

Creating tag:
Click on DI on the popup appear.

Click ok.
Enter the name of the tag you want to develop. Enter the discription, it will show that
driscription on alarm window if you have enabled it.
Select the IGS on the driver in addressing region. Enter the address. As shown,
e. Creating historical tags:-
Click on historical assignment on left side.

Following window will appear.

Click on new from file.

Then add the tags you want. Save it.

Insert a standard chart in picture window. Place the button under the chart for selecting the
particular tag to display.

Click on apply chart group file. Following file will appear.

 Select the chart. Click on chart group file. Select appropriate file, click ok.
f. Security system:-
Select security configuration from security in application on menu file.

Click on user accounts from edit menu. Click on add button for creation of new profile.
Enter name, password and login time out. You can change group membership by clicking on
modify button provided.

Security configuration:-
You can configure the security of the system or file from configure in edit menu

Click on ok, save the file.

g. Using of dynamo set:-

Click on the dynamo set provided on left side of the screen. This is the library, we can
get every device from this library.
Select device you want to add, a window will appear, drag and drop the required figure
on screen.

You can create your own dynamo set. Right click on dynamo set on left side and select
new dynamo set.

Empty window will appear. Design your own device/ figure and drag & drop it in new
dynamo set window. It will ask for creating master dynamo, select proper choice. Save it.
h. Dynamic :-

1. Filling dynamic:-
Drag the figure from the dynamo set. It will pop up the window.

Select the tag for filling the tank.

 2. Changing foreground colour:-

Right click on figure. Select animation.

Select forground or background which colour you want to change.

3. Open picture:-
Select the pump or button from which you want to open picture.
Select click from window.

Select open picture.

Select the name of picture you want.

4. Visibility:-
Select figure, go to animation.
 Click on visiblity.

Select tag you want. And specify the condition.

5. Gauge dynamic:-
Select the gauge from the dynamic set, window will appear, select tag and click ok.
i. Tag group editor:-
Double click on tag group editor on left side, window will appear, enter data and save it.

j. Face plate creation:-

Creat new picture, give dimension as per requirement.

click on next, select according

to your requirement.
Click on finish.
 Its new picture as per requirement. Develop features on this picture. Design as per your
requirement. As shown in figure.
Select pump from where you want to open the face plate or popup.

Select click from it.

Click on open picture.

Select the picture name. Enable tag group substitution and select the tag group you have created.

k. Creating alarm:-
Go to data base manager, click on add.

Select on AA analog alarm or DA digital alarm

Enter the name and description which will be shown in alarm window.

Give the priority and value as per your description. You can suppress common alarm by
clicking suppress comm. Alarm. Remote acknowledgement can be possible by providing
tag on remote ACK.
Create the alarm summery on the picture window for display of alarm.

You can change setting by double clicking on the summary window.

By selecting operator you can define the things which operator can change in runtime.

Filter option provides you the ability to filter the alarm options.

You can sort the alarm by selection of sort option. It can sort according to time, tag
name, priority and etc.
You can define colour for the different level of alarm by selecting the colour.

You can inset column in the alarm summery by selecting the column.
l. Ramping tag:
You can ramp the tag by the value you needed. Develop a button on screen.

Right click on button, a popup will appear, select click.

Window will appear. Select ramp tag value from dropdown.

Select the tag, select the atribute to ramp by percentage or by value. Enter ramp value
and click on ok.
