5.6 Slewing Mechanism

5.6.1 Slewing Operation
The slewing mechanism, which can realized 360° full-circle slewing, consists of the hydraulic
motor, the planet-gear reducer, the brake, the driving gear and the slewing ring and so on.

CAUTION: The driver’s sight of the rear and the two sides are greatly restricted

during slewing. So, must operate quite cautiously. We can actuate the horn to
remind persons nearby. Operate after ensuring no person and other barriers are
within the crane working area for safety. The tail radius of the crane is 4400 mm.

The slewing speed can be adjusted by the accelerator pedal and the joystick of slewing
mechanism. Depress the accelerator pedal and increase the inclination angle of the joystick,
the slewing mechanism will speed up. But it should be avoided to changing the speed
suddenly during slewing in order to make the crane’s work steady.

5.6.2 Slewing Lock

The slewing lock is mounted in the front of the slewing table. Pull out the inserting pin for
slewing lock before slewing and do insert this pin after operation and before traveling.

CAUTION:
a. Slew steadily. It must be avoided to operating abruptly or changing the direction
fast because it is dangerous.
b. For safety operation, check the slewing ring bolts after the first 100-hour of
working. Its tightening moment is 900 N.m. After working for 500 hours, do the
check again. Later do the check every 1000 hours.
c. The crane is permitted to slew with load, but it is forbidden to laterally drag and
pull the load that still contact with the ground otherwise it is dangerous.
d. Check the distance between the outriggers (7.8 m) before slewing.
e. Do ensure enough working space.
f. Make sure that pull out the inserting pin for slewing lock on the front end of
slewing table before slewing. Insert this pin to lock the slewing table when the
crane is off the work.
