Project: Gibsons House Project Description:
This house project was the first stage in a dwelling and rental property

in Gibsons B.C. It started with this 2,000 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms
and large communal areas. The project celebrates the site by sitting
on the top of a hill and incorporating large expansive operable
windows to help enjoy the panoramic views and allow flow from
interior to exterior space. A tall covered exterior area allows the family
and friends to be outside in the beating heat and the pouring rain.
Project: Lunenburg Minimal Dwelling Project
Year: 2015

Description:
This was a “minimal housing” project created while in school
at Dalhousie. I Created a small housing project to be grouped
with 10 other dwellings on a remote site in Nova Scotia. The
project required a detailed study of different framing methods
and the final presentation consisted of detailed framing model.

Project: Mass Timber School (Design for Disassembly)

Year: 2018

Description:
My thesis project focused on the idea of being able to assemble
and disassemble a mass timber structure in order to relocate schools
as the population fluctuates from one area of the city to the next.
1:1 scale models were created to study how the interior would work
and how cladding would be able to assembled on site instead of built
for one use. This project included a heavy theoretical background
where many attempts of prefabrication by modern architects were
studied. The project also included a detailed timeline of how the
building could expand and contract to meet the local requirements.

Project: Coastal Studio Gridshell Project
Year: 2016
Description:
Project: Coastal Studio Gridshell Project The gridshell project was an outdoor pavilion located in a National
Park in northern Nova Scotia. The design was a complex shell
Year: 2016 shaped roof that was created with a wooden lathe gridshell,
concrete walls and gabions. The geometry of the structure
and the rebar were extremely complex and required significant
coordination. It was a student built project, and I helped
coordinate and construct the beginning stages of the project.

Project: Extension of the Sea Wall

Year: 2017

Description:
There was a gap in the Sea Wall in Vancouver and it meant
that Gastown was disconnected from the waterfront. The
goal of these buildings was to connect this missing link and
this project aimed to study play in all forms and to create a
community center with a playground, daycare and library.
The project continued the Vancouver Sea Wall and created
a swimming area and a tidal playground under the library.
It was designed as a community hub for all ages and was
meant to reconnect historic Gastown to the waterfront.
