Introduction:

As it can be seen in the name of the Topic 'Interactive System Research Group(ISRG)' tells
that the Research Groups performs research on making Interactive System technology for
people with physical and mental disabilities. There are different ways adopted to help
bring ease in the life of people with disabilities. For example, for people with mental
disabilities, games and applications are being made to think more like a normal and help
understand things happening around them. Same goes for people with physical disabilities,
Robots are being made to help them make maximum use of the their strength and also help
them in day to day tasks. As it is a very broad field and can be implemented at different
levels. The ISRG group have worked on following research interests :

Literature Review:
Engineering:
Games have been used a lot to aid in the process of recovering from mental illness have
proved very beneficial. Not only it has helped in treatment but also help disabled people
become an active participant in community and in country as a whole. For example,
organizations such as 'Mental health Delta Divisions' has developed games for different
aspects of Mental Illness. It includes games for Depression, Emotions, Families,
Relationships, Self esteem and Stress. These are games are made, keeping in mind the state
of mind of person. Not just Online games, there are sessions to educate them how to
dialogue, how much distance to keep while talking, group chats of two to three people,
appropriate salutations, listening skills and departing remarks . [ CITATION Eng08 \l 1033 ]

Health Care:
Assistive Technology is making significant affect in day to day life of people having mental
disorder. Organizations such as AMAC Accessibility for All, DBSA Wellness tracker,
PTSD Coach and many more work on mental health using Assistive Technologies. These
Assistive Technologies use smart phone apps to check overall mood, Well being, Mood
order symptoms, Medication and side effects and Physical Health. These devices also
provide changes in Breathing, Heart Rate and Voice Patter . [ CITATION Car19 \l 1033 ]

Communication:
A lot of ways have been developed to do communication using Interactive Systems. One of
them are Robots. Robots are being made by different organizations to do interaction with
the patients who all need 24/7 support of someone being with them. Robots are trained in
a way to perform duties, for example Robots being used to hospitals to improve quality of
treatment. Some of the example of Robots being used at hospitals are :

1. The Da Vinci Surgical Robot .

2. The Xenex Germ Zapping Robot .

3. The PARO Therapeutic Robot .

4. The TUG .

5. The CyberKnife . [ CITATION Mar19 \l 1033 ]

Similarly, Mobile Phone applications are made to listen queries from the people and help
them out in whatever they are looking for. This is making difference to the lives of people
as it make them feel that someone is with them all the time.

Education:
Interactive Systems are being used to a lot for Rehabilitation and make the people learn
skills to become a active member in the society. There are educational videos which are
made to help people with physical disabilities to learn and earn for themselves. Edmentum
and PowerSchool are example of two of the schools which educate special children. The
educational courses are designed focusing on different mental disabilities of the people and
train them according. Basic courses provided by these schools are for Reading, Writing,
Maths, Listening and few more. These basic courses are designed, keeping in mind that
every person has to do these tasks on day to day basis .
Security:
For the security of the people of the disabled people, Security applications and devices are
made to make people more secure and safe. Educational videos/lessons based on training
are being made keeping in mind mentally or physically disabled person. As security of own
self is not easy, as people with disability find it difficult to understand the scenario of
what's happening around them. So, people are educated using interactive lessons. For
example, mobile phone applications are made with which one click you send information if
the patient is in need of emergency, similarly devices can detect heartbeat in case of
emergency data is automatically transferred to the desired destination.

Industry:
Industry is also one of the major aspect of where things are being made involving
Interactive Systems. Interactive Systems have made things easy, as there are things already
being used involving Interactive systems. For example, Electronic industry is already very
much involved and will be involved more along-side Educational Institutes for making
devices such as Robots and problem solvers machines in order to bring ease in the life of
disabled people .

Conclusion:

The impact of Interactive Systems(IS) has been very positive and great. As every invention
is done to bring comfort to human life and same has been the case of Interactive Systems
devices and applications. Whatever field of life you look into, IS are being used and has
been the biggest change. As discussed earlier, whether its communications, education,
healthcare, security, engineering or industry, there has been a incomparable innovations
made to bring quality of work. If we talk about Rehablitation, there are devices and online
applications which help educate and train, but also bring safety and security in the life of
the people. Wrist Devices i.e. FitBit are made which measure heart rate and according to
the condition of the person, data messages are forwarded to the desired destination. Same
goes for Education, in order to educate people with mental illness, special courses are
made, after doing a lot of research and practical implification, to the see that how much
affect it is making in to the person. The first and far most job is to educate and train people
to do basic stuff and everyday stuff, like reading, writing, listening, speaking and basic
maths.

The purpose is to make them do as much stuff as possible on their, this not only will be
helpful for them but also will bring self confidence to the people . Same goes for the work in
the field of Assisted Living. As people with special needs, need assist to convey their
message with a lot ease, and there are applications made for them to do so. Assisted living
includes devices which can measure their body temperature, heart rate and many more.
Assisted devices are also used by people, if they want to tell or convey their message using
hand and body gestures.

Globalization of Interactive System devices and applications has been done a lot, but it still
needs a lot of work to be done and financial support to make it a Global success. As this is
not a easy and cheap thing to develop, it requires and financial resources and man power to
make it Global success. There are efforts being my each country to bring this comfort to the
people who need it the most, but still it needs a lot of time to prosper .

Interactive systems is also being in Traffic Management, as Traffic Management is one of

major problems in big cities. So, in order to make things easier for Traffic department,
Interactive Systems devices and applications are being made to make them control traffic
easily and without being away from the location. As Interactive Systems can be used from
far away. So, it is also one of the big advantages of Interactive System technology in Traffic
Management .

Interactive Systems is still up and coming thing and in the years to come it will be a lot
more used and bring ease in our life. Though, it will need a lot of work and dedication from
all of us to make it easier for people to help educate how to use these technologies.
