SELF EVALUATION OF LAMDA BOARD FUNCTIONING Sept.

2019 - May 2020


Directions:
The following evaluation is to be completed by each Board member to reflect your personal
perception of current Board functioning. Return completed form to ipenwarden@nucleus.com
by June 10 please.
Assign numbers 1 to 5 for each statement with 1 = poor and 5 = very good

1 Board members understand the authority and functioning of the Board of Directors. ___

2. Board members understand the roles and responsibilities of the Board of Directors
and the Officers. ___

3. Board members understand LAMDA’s mission and its programs. ___

4. A written mission statement is in evidence and used in communication. ___

5. Board has clear goals and actions resulting from realistic strategic planning. ___

6. Board uses policies, position descriptions and budget planning to guide


operational activities and decision-making. ___

7. Board receives, and reviews reports on finances, program performance and


committee/group work in progress. ___

8. Board work is undertaken and accomplished within requested time frames. ___

9. Board effectively represents the organization to the community (e.g.: website) ___

10. Board regularly monitors and evaluates progress on important organizational


matters (e.g.: tenant housing satisfaction). ___

11. Board has approved comprehensive governance and personnel policies. ___

12. Each Board member appears to be involved and interested in the board’s work. ___

13. All necessary skills, stakeholders and diversity are represented on the Board. ___

14. Board has an approved recruitment process for the Board of Directors. ___

15. Board sets fundraising goals and is actively involved in fundraising. ___
