About Internship:

As a part of responsibilities of an “International Marketing” intern, I am expected to study and research the
Pharmaceutical Market of Russia and other CIS Countries in order to determine suitable ways to penetrate the
market. My project focuses primarily on API’s manufactured by Nectar Lifesciences as a product. This involves
a thorough research of how a market works, what are the requirements of the customers, and how the COVID-19
pandemic impacts the market. It may also involve taking data from the existing customers of API’s and
analysing it. At the end of the internship, a report suggesting the current scenarios and possible ways to tackle
them will be made and submitted.
Considering the current conditions under the effect of “SARS- CoV-2”, popularly also known as “Covid-19”,
the duties for this internship were performed through telecommuting.

Progress Report:

In the first week, I started by understanding the task I was assigned. Coming from a non-medical background, I
first decided to understand and thorough my concepts about API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient). The
Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) is the part of any drug that produces the intended effects. I split my
first week, into understanding the theory of API and it's importance in the pharmaceutical industries. Towards
the next week, I moved on to the crucial part of my research, which was to acknowledge the products (API/s)
offered by “Nectar Lifesciences” (Hereby referred to as NLL). With continuous analysis on the company, I
concluded, with leading global capacity for some of the Cephalosporin Molecules, NLL is one of the leading
manufacturers of Cephalosporin range of products possessing core strength in Manufacturing (Both oral and
Sterile API’s) and one of the few companies in India possessing both Lyophilisation and Crystallization
facilities. As of today, NLL produces “16” types of API.

The next two weeks, were a part of more ground work which needed a practical approach towards my work-in-
progress. It was to study the current market trends in the Russian other CIS Countries, the changes in the
industry over the years. I divided my work into two segments. My first segment involved to study the market
trends in terms of the pharmaceutical industry in all the 12 CIS countries, by allotting two countries on each day,
I extensively investigated the market trends of each and every CIS country, within the 3 rd week of my project. I
started my 4th week by, developing various kinds of statistical and graphical charts which would help me
compare the market trends of the individual CIS country over the past few years. It helped me identify the
correlation between the trends during the time period.

Due to the barriers of the distance and current global condition, my research was completely based on the data, I
collected from various authorized websites and the economical stats provided over the internet.

The support I received from my mentor was impeccable. It not only helped me to process my research almost
errorless but also motivated me to exceed expectations that have been set for me. I look forward to carry forward
my research and yield results that will be beneficial for the company in future.
