1- You have completed a pre-design survey about a sewage lagoon at Abha in the
summer. Write a submittal letter to your supervisor about this summer training
report?
Dear Mr ABC
This report, “Pre-Design Report of Proposed Sewage Lagoon for Abha”, was prepared as my
first summer training Report for XYZ Company.
This pre-design report includes the site maps for the construction of the new sewage lagoon and
its adjacent area including the core area and community buildings. The report provides cost
efficient and most suitable option for treating waste material in a facultative lagoon. If you have
any concerns regarding the pre-design report, please do not hesitate to contact.
This report was prepared entirely by myself and has not received any previous academic credit at
this or any other academic institution.
Sincerely,

The data which you had collected by your methodology should be analyzed and the results
should be listed in this section. Mostly people use graphical representations to make the results
more attractive.
It includes:
a) graphs, tables, diagrams, charts etc and explanatory text which points out the most significant
portions of research findings.
b) It indicates key trends or relationships.
c) It also highlights expected and/or unexpected findings
Tables are used to present information. That could be theoretical information, or data from your
research findings. The title for the table appears above the table itself. You should always present
your data in a summarized form that helps the reader to understand your findings. Each column
should have a heading describing the material below it. Give units in the first row below the
headings.
Figures: They are generally used to show trends rather than detailed information Figures come in
two types: graphs and images/diagrams. Graphs are typically used to present your data in a form
Page 2 of 4
that is easy for the reader to understand. Images and diagrams are more likely to be used to help
explain concepts or theories. The title of figures appears below the figures.
Tables and figures should have titles that are self-explanatory. Thus, the titles often need to be
more than one sentence. Explanatory tables and figures should be incorporated into the text as
soon as possible after the paragraph in which they are first cited, and each one must be
mentioned in the text preceding it. If a figure requires a full page, it should follow immediately
after the page containing the first reference to it.
Refer to tables and figures with a capitalized whole word not with an abbreviation. You should
not use the word "see." For example, "The results can be expressed as a graph (Figure 1)."
Tables and figures can be numbered consecutively throughout the report (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) or they
may be numbered consecutively within each section (1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, etc.).
4-a-Why you must cite sources whenever quoting, paraphrasing, or summarizing work that
is not your own?
Sources include:
– Books
– Interviews
– Conference Proceedings
– Lectures

It should be detailed table of contents and not just the main headings of your Project Work. It
should include the segmentation of your report in chapters and should also have sub headings
listed along with page numbers. A complete list of tables and figures and list of Symbols and
Abbreviations along with proper captions is to be added in the next page after table of
contents along with page numbers.
The table of contents sets out the sections and subsections and their corresponding page
numbers.
Number all the preliminary pages in lower-case Roman numerical (i,ii,iii,iv,…). You don't
have to place the number i on the title page. Just count it and put ii on the second page of
your report.
• Number all the remaining pages of your report with Arabic numericals (1,2,3,4,…). Thus your
report begins on page 1 with your Introduction.
• Provide a title in your table of contents to describe the contents of each appendix. For example:
Appendix 1: Sample Calculations.
