RESULTS AND DISCUSSION:

The mini paint can heater that we have built have been proved useful in the cold climate zone of PNG, the
highlands region. The normal temperature of the highlands region is below the normal room temperature

are building a simpler product that is building a heater and that product can be used by
many of the Papua New Guineans.

For this project we have built a tin paint charcoal heater and this heater was made from the
result of pure waste materials. We are reusing empty paint tins to build the heater and we
believe that it’s an effective way to recycle empty paint tins that lies around construction
site and industrial area. Apart from other recycling or reusing of paint cans using different
methods we think that if you want to build one it will be a little bit difficult but with our
product it is very easy to build and you will spend nothing to build the heater.

RECOMMENDATION:
The mini-paint can heater is recommended to be used by the people of the highlands region of
PNG. This is due the cold and rainy weather pattern of the highlands region. Also mini-paint can

For the materials, note that it is not always necessary for all the above materials to be
used. Substitutes can be used if material availability is an issue. For instance, ordinary wire
can be used in place of the welding rods.
