Cause of death: Gunshot wound of the head

Manner of death: Suicide

EXTERNAL EXAMINATION

An external examination was performed on May 16, 2018 at 0937 hours, at the Franklin County Coroner's Office.

IDENTIFICATION: The decedent has been positively visually identified to be "Kimball S. Perry", a 56-year-old
white male.

EVIDENCE OF EXTERNAL INJURY:

Gunshot wound of the head.

Entrance gunshot wound: There is a tight contact entrance gunshot wound of the right zygomatic region. It is
located 3 inches below the vertex of the head and 1 inch lateral from the lateral end of the right eyebrow. It
measures 1/2 inch in diameter. There is a circumferential 1/4 inch wide, dark red, marginal abrasion. Black
fouling is present within the subcutaneous tissues.

Path of the bullet: The bullet passed through the substance of the cerebral hemispheres.

Exit gunshot wound: There is a vertical, slit-like, exit gunshot wound of the left preauricular region. It is located
4 inches below the vertex of the head and 1/2 inch from the pinna of the left ear in the 11 o' clock direction. It
measures 3/8 inch in length.

Course of the bullet: The bullet passed from right to left, from front to back and from above downward.

The injuries having been described once will not be mentioned again.

EXTERNAL EVIDENCE OF MEDICAL INTERVENTION: There is no evidence of medical intervention.

EXTERNAL EXAMINATION: The decedent is received in a white body bag. The decedent has a Franklin
County Coroner's office identification tag on the right ankle labeled "Body of Kimball Perry". The decedent is a
well-developed, well-nourished, adult white male, appearing the stated age of 56 years.
The body length is 76 inches; the weight is 204 pounds. Rigor mortis is 2+ present in the jaw and the lower
extremities. Livor mortis is posterior dependent, red and fixed. At the time of examination, the body is cool to
touch.
The head hair is brown, short, and frontal alopecia is present. Body hair is average in amount for the apparent age,
race and sex.
The head is normocephalic. The eyes are equal in size. The right eye is protruding from its normal position. The
conjunctivae are smooth, moist, glistening and unremarkable. The irides are gray. The cornea are clear. The pupils
are irregular in shape.
The ears are equal in size and are of normal position and configuration. The external auditory canals are patent.
The nose has normal location, size and configuration. The nasal passages are patent. The mouth and oral cavity
show no evidence of abnormality or recent or remote injury. Natural teeth are present and in good condition.
The neck is straight, rigid, without crepitus or hypermobility. The trachea is in the midline. There are no palpable
masses and no lymphadenopathy. The chest is symmetrical with no deformity. The breasts are those of a normal
adult male. The abdomen is protuberant and without abnormality. The back is symmetrical and has a normal
configuration. The buttocks are symmetrical. The upper and lower extremities are symmetrical and have normal
configuration. The hands and the feet are symmetrical and have normal configuration. The soles of the feet are
without injury or deformity. The external genitalia are those of a normal adult male. The perineum shows no
evidence of recent or remote injury, or deformity.
