Why did you decide to attempt to enter the human resources field?

The company I worked for had issues attracting qualified applicants. Many of the staff members were
attending school to enter the medical field or a trade. My boss employs a lot of college students and she
works with their schedule. I recruited several classmates in various business courses to work for her
because it would not only benefit the company it benefits the applicant. The applicants were extremely
successful, so she had me attend a college career fairs held at local community colleges to recruit
students.

What attracted you to the recruiting profession?

I have mentored other coworkers and classmates in their career development.

Also had a coworker that was studying nursing however she didn’t like certain aspects of the nursing
program or the nursing position. She was very passionate about the medical field. So, I recommended
that she use her medical coursework to obtain a degree in medical coding. And I also suggested she use
her office management experience to obtain a position a medical administration. She now works for a
medical hospital in medical administration.

When I was taking an Accounting class, there was a student who was very passionate about graphic
designing and business management however she was majoring in accounting, She stated she was
displeased with her degree coursework.

Since she was passionate for creating advertisements and didn’t want to change her degree to a
different field of study that was not business, I suggested she use her coursework for a marketing
degree.

While working in retail I noticed there were two types of people that worked for in a store, those that
dealt directly with customers and those that preferred to work in logistics. I was once assigned to train
an employee, he had lots of trouble meeting the sales qoutas and management was considering firing
him. We had a vacant positions, for a logistics staff member. I recommended that he or she transfer to
the logistics and he is still working in that position. I am very proficient in staffing processes.

I am extremely passionate about finding the right person for a position. I consider myself like a life coach
and business developer. I think people need to find a field or position that they both are good at and
that they are passionate about and that can not only develop their career but also develop the business.
I think both people and the company they work for need to grow simultaneously.

I think Job placement, training, guiding, and motivating employees is the defining tasks which will either
make a business great or break it.

What changes have you implemented in your recruiting efforts to increase success?
And direct organization?
My boss had some issues finding the right applicants for the open positions. I worked with her
directly and proposed several recruiting strategies which included both online and direct
recruiting which can yield major results. I attended job fairs conducted at my current college.
And recruited several business majors for marketing and business consulting positions, I also
recommended computer science majors for some of the technology positions available at the
current company I work for.
As a business major I also helped my boss set up online ads on Craiglist
The issue she was having was that a lot of the business graduates were applying for
management positions and a lot of the business students were working in a non-related field.

I always recommend the best candidates for interviews, based on not only their background and
experience, but their career goals, essentially their future, When attempting to recruit a good
candidate, I reassured them that the career opportunity correlates with their career goals.

Maintaining positive relations with hiring managers preserves a collaborative environment.

The only time I had an issue was when she solely wanted to rely on online platforms for job
applicants however a lot of the applicants had no credentials or under qualified. The ones that
were qualified were college graduates applying for management jobs and not marketing
consulting positions. I recommended she hire second year business majors which had a
foundation for business.

What do you do if a candidate unexpectedly rejects your job offer?

I did have some classmates who had a position in a field of business, so they did not require
any experience. The biggest issue that I see with college students is that they work in a field
that is not related to their major. So, I seek candidates that are not currently working in the
industry they are majoring in, in order to provide them with a mutually beneficial opportunity.

Tell me about yourself?

For the past 5 years I been attending college and working. I have two associates. One in
Accounting and associates in Business Management. I have been working as a business
consultant and marketing consultant for offices and small businesses at Office Depot and I’ve
also work an internship at an accounting firm.
I work part-time and am also obtaining a bachelor’s in human resources.
What motivated you to become a recruiter?

At my current job I not only recruit,

I have to check the qualifications of applicants and cross reference them to the

responsibilities of the specific position

In order to provide the company with the best candidate for the position.

Why do you think you’d be a great candidate?

I think I would be a great candidate because I am efficient, accurate, thorough, plus my compassion.
I not only care about my own job opportunities, I care about providing opportunities for others, we are
essentially helping people accomplish their goals and achieve their livelihood.
