Answer all three questions from this Section. Fifteen (15) marks.

1. Discuss, briefly the steps that should be followed in writing a good academic essay. (5
marks)
2. Describe two models of communication and comment on each one, giving examples where
you think the model reflects the reality of communication in today’s world. (5marks)
3. Can non-verbal communication be a substitute for verbal communication? In your answer
discuss the various contexts in which non-verbal communication is used. (5 marks)

Define the following five terms, giving a few brief examples. Total marks: 10.
