13
DIARY OF INTERNSHIP

DATE OF INTERNSHIP – 1 JUNE 2019

11.1 WEEK 1
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
In the first week of internship a blood donation camp was conducted by the
organization.
The blood donation camp was conducted on 8thjune 2019 in ISSER MOHALI
COLLEGE.
I was assigned the role of the registrar.
I helped the donors get themselves registered for donating the blood.
We had 50+ registrations of donors. Few were the college student and few
were the members of the Swaas trust.

11.2 WEEK 2
CLEANLINESS CAMP
In the second week we conducted a cleanliness camp where we went to a
nearby park and collected all the garbage thrown in the park.
We cleaned the park and dumped the waste.
We even conducted awareness among people to keep the area clean.
The photos were clicked of the area before and after the cleanliness so as to
send to the head of area.

11.3WEEK 3
SURVEY
In the third week we were send to a survey of a village. In the survey we were
asked to keep a count of children below age of 6 years and all the pregnant
women living in the area.

We went through different areas of the village and conducted the survey and
noted the name age and made the list of all the children and pregnant women.

There was a free eye checkup camp organized by SWAAS NGO in the
Kumbra village. The timing was 10 am to 1 pm. All the people were informed
beforehand about the camp and were told the timings. Nearly 150 people came
for the checkup. The place where the camp was organized was properly
cleaned by the NGO people.

INTERNSHIP LEARNING

14
 Responsibility towards society
During the internship I got to learn my responsibilities towards by society. I
got to learn how to keep our surroundings clean and let people also keep. I got
to learn that not only it’s you who has to take the responsibility but make
people aware about theirs and let them take their responsibilities.

 Developed social values

I developed values such as to help the needy to the extent you can. Always
take out time to help needy. Don’t ask for change, begin the change.
Contribute even a little if u can.

 Not everything comes with ease

Even to gain something small we need to work. Providing a helping hand also
requires time and efforts. Donating blood to save a life requires a pain of
needle and organizing a free eye check camp too required time.

 Spread education
Our Ngo also provides free education to poor children. During the internship I
learned that instead of wasting spare time on phone you can help provide
education and help in growth and development of country.

 Time investment
Use your time on something important and necessary. Invest your precious
time on something good rather than just wasting it on useless unproductive
things. Learn to invest your time.

CONCLUSION

15
It was a great experience working in a non- governmental organization. I got to learn
a lot many things and was a part of various activities. It helped me be aware and
become a responsible citizen. I was assigned various works which I had duly
completed. The whole journey was a new learning and about the reality of our
country. I am glad I got to work with SWAAS TRUST.
