Evidence: The story of bottled wáter

Bottled water is one of the most dramatic problems in our consumerist society. Every day millions
of people around the world drink bottled water and then throw away the empty bottle to the
garbage. Consequently, the world is becoming full of empty plastic bottles.

After you watch the video answer the following questions. Use any voice recording software to
record your answers. Use will and first and second conditional in the answers.

1. What are the problems derived from drinking bottled water? Mention
twoproblems at least.

a- the problem is that empty bottles will pollute the environment and they are never broken
b- the smoke produced by the bottellar manufacturing pollutes the ozone layer What is the
difference between bottled water and drinking water?

2. What is the difference between bottled water and drinking water?

The difference is that I do not have to buy drinking water.First, out of ignorance, people believed
that it would help the environment if they bought plastic bottles and not glass.

3. Describe the process involved in manufacturing a plastic bottle.

What companies do first is obtain raw materials


from nature to make bottles, when they have already made the bottles they will fill them with
processed water.

If the water has already been bottled, the bottles will be distributed until they reach people.
incinerators will be voted on and used to rebuild new bottles.

4. What happens with the plastic bottles after we throw them away?

They end up in incinerators and these emit toxic and dangerous gases for the health of the living
being.

5. What solutions can be implemented to solve this problem?

campaigns must be promoted whereby they reduce the production of plastic bottles, if the
materials and implements that are friendly to the environment can be changed

6. Is this problem common in your community? What does the community do to deal
with it?

in my community it is very common for people to buy bottled water, what I have seen is that
people already prefer to fill a jar with water to avoid buying the bottle

7. Will you drink bottled wáter again? Why, why not?

I really wouldn't spend on bottled water. I have many reasons not to buy it and the first one is that
I spend less money, also if I would be calmer drinking the drink.

8. What will you do in the future to reduce the number of plastic bottles used in the
world?

I will be part of a social work to encourage communities, so they will recycle and continue
collaborating with other people
