Speak Not
By: Soledad R. Juan
The author speaks about a poem that is structured with a rhyme scheme of abab and a
consistent syllable count of 10. That depicts the author stating that she wishes not to be told
about a fancy gathering but instead be told about the quiet and peace where her interest lays
about. The piece denotates how the author dislikes the fancy social gathering event, while at the
end she shared her own kind or meaning of fancy. Connotates how she can travel the world a
million times a day as how she can take things through her imagination.
The poem gives the mood of joy with just being alone with your imagination. The poem
gives the idea to the reader of how the author lives with the pleasure of enjoying her own version
of fancy life while being at peace and quiet surroundings along with her imagination and joyful
hours alone. Using a number of imageries that express and the scenery of the story, and made her
audience feel the way she feels about her Fancy.
