The Dilemma of The Neighborhood Board

The dilemma presented in the case is the equivalent of the position assumed by a
manager within a company where his employees are dissatisfied with the work area, it is a
complicated and sensitive situation that arises due to the lack of necessary details to be able to
analyze the situation in a better way, but nevertheless poses it from a situation where there is
no side that is wrong. A home is defined as the habitual residence of a person and in which he
develops his private or family life. That is why a person has to make sure that said home is safe
and welcoming for him and even more important for his family. I speak a little on the personal
side, it is true that there are always special neighbors who usually complain to the smallest
existing conflict, but once doing the comparison with the employees, as a manager it is our
obligation to deal with all kinds of them and in a professional and ethical manner.

As previously mentioned, the situation lacks details to be able to carry out a deeper and
more accurate analysis, but given the information that is presented, personally I would develop
3 plans (in hierarchical order);

1. Call a meeting with the neighborhood community because in order to solve the
problems, it is not only up to the person in charge, but also to the entire community. At
the conference, he would propose the following action plans and, of course, he would
be open to external opinions from the attendees
o Promote a monthly contribution fund for the maintenance of areas within the
neighborhood
o Hire security that roam at night to avoid crimes. Like creating neighborhood
watch that patrol at night and there are rotations within the community and
reinforce the safety and tranquility of the neighborhood

2. If the community does not like the idea of contributing money to create a fund. The next
proposal would be to write a letter stating the problems of the community and sign it by
the participants to take it to the headquarters of the government and demand the
necessary changes

3. Given that the first 2 options do not work, or the community is against it, I would
propose to resign from the position, but with the purpose of rotating the position
among the community. Unlike a managerial position in a company, the situation raises a
community problem and personally I think the solution lies with the contribution of the
community itself. The current leader has handled things perfectly by listening and trying
to solve the problems. Again, I emphasize that it is not the same as resigning because
this is a new way of attacking the problem and in a way creating conciseness so that the
community contributes a different action plan or leans towards the number 1 idea
presented above.
