Pakistan reported 1,841 new cases of COVID-19 on 18th


May 2020. The total number of cases notified since the

beginning of the outbreak is 43,966 with 939 deaths reported in ICT followed
(CFR: 2.13%). 9,919 confirmed cases are currently by Sindh and GB
hospitalized, out of which 342 (3.45%) are in critical
condition. 20,619 COVID-19 positive cases are in home
or at designated isolation facilities. A total of 12,489
(28.40%) have recovered and discharged.

Mahipala met with the Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia, in Pakistan on Thursday 14th May 2020.

Dr Palitha briefed the Ambassador on the current WHO


support to Pakistan for COVID-19 response. He
discussed resource mobilization for WHO Pakistan
activities.
