SEASONS: READING COMPREHENSION
In North America, there are four seasons: SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, AND WINTER. Each season is three months.
The months of SPRING are March, April, and May. Officially, SPRING begins on March 21 st. It is usually cold and
windy in March, but there are some warm days. In April, it rains, but May is beautiful. The plants and trees become
green, and there are flowers of many colors.

SUMMER begins on June 22nd. The summer months are June, July, and August. It is very hot in the summer. School
ends and vacations begin. People go on picnics and go to the beach. Summer is always too short.

After summer comes FALL. It begins on September 23 rd. The fall months are September, October, and November. The
weather is nice in September, but school begins and vacations ends. In October, the leaves change color. They become
yellow, red, and brown. The colors are very beautiful, but then the leaves fall from the trees.

WINTER is the cold season. It begins on December 22 nd. The winter months are December, January, and February. It is
usually cold in December, but people are very happy at Christmas. In many places, it snows in the winter. Children play
in the snow, and people go skiing and ice-skating.
