Design situation 
Millions of tons of textiles end up in landfills and incinerators around the world every year. This is a problem as the textiles industry 
uses huge amounts of raw materials, water, energy and chemicals for the production of their products. It is often claimed that this 
industry is a prime example of an industry that is not sustainable. As designers (and world-citizens), we have a responsibility to 
design and create with sustainability in mind. Governments, industry and consumers ask us to come up with better solutions to the 
life-cycle of textiles.  
 
Your challenge is to recycle a fabric or textile garment into another product that 
will be useful for your intended client. This upcycled product will effectively help 
to extend the life of your garment.

I need to recycle the garment to make it another product for customers. This will help extend the life of 
the garment, make him more sustainable, and better protect the environment.

college (and ​possible gif​ of you wearing the garment) with an explanation of the material properties. Example ​HERE​.

Project justification 
● Explain​ what fast fashion is and why it is problematic. 
● Present​ photographic evidence of different aspects of the problem. Caption the photos explaining what the image is 
showing.

Fast fashion is a term that describes clothing design. Clothing develops from fashion shows and quickly walks to 
stores and enters the fashion trend. Fast fashion has a price that most consumers can afford, which makes them 
buy fashionable clothing. 

It can be seen that fast fashion has a very cheap price to make, but if you buy it, it will expensive than
making money, almost all money was taken away by middlemen.

This is a 2017 ranking on the fast fashion brand, which can show that the public likes that brand the
most.
Fast fashion has an environmental cost, however through new technology we can make use of the
wasted clothes and convert them into new sustainable cloth.

The fast fashion was very wasteful of our natural resources, and the quality is not good. Almost people
always wear the fast fashion clothes, they will be thrown away in a few months because their quality is
not good.
