MESCYT 2015 Day 1 – Basic 1 RP

T. will become acquainted with the students, ask some questions (name, age, favorite color... etc.) After
everybody has introduced themselves the teacher will suggest a game where students have to rearrange
themselves in alphabetical order.

Names A to Z: This activity is good for introductions and for practicing the alphabet. It is good for a new group
of students and for the class where you have just a few new students or a new teacher.

Level: Beginning through Advanced

Language: What is your name? – My name’s ___. / My name’s ___. – What is your name?

Procedures:

1. T will model the language by asking for a volunteer or playing both parts.

2. Students introduce themselves: What is your name? – My name’s Anna.

3. Then students line up in the alphabetical order (A to Z). If there isn’t enough room in the classroom students
can form a circle.

(If you have a Small class and have extra time, have them walk around the room and introduce each other to
other people in a “mingle” activity, while the T walks around and monitors the Ss.)
