Please find the below resolutions.

1. Record the script in URL based (Because application may contains heavy
weight components Ajax, APPLETs, etc., )
2. Use recording options - socket level + WinInet level (Recording Optio
ns à Network à Port mapping)
3. Shut down all unnecessary processes & Antivirus softwares and verify t
he system related issues in System event viewer
4. If it is a secure application, we need to concentrate more on certific
ates (if it is a HTTPS site).
5. Try to record the script using Mozila firefox.
Sometimes, we will encounter cases when the WebRecorder will hang at the step fo
r the NTLM credential pop up. To disable the NTLM credential pop at end of reco
rding if the application uses NTLM authentication, change the following in regis
try
i. Go to Sta
rt ® Run, and enter regedit to open the registry editor.
ii. Navigate t
o HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mercury Interactive\LoadRunner\Protocols\HTTP\Analy
zer
iii. Set Disabl
eNTLMDialogHooking=1 (default is 0)

Note: You will need to use the web_set_user function explicitly in the sc
ript after above changes.
7. During the Protocol selection, select multi protocol window instead of
single protocol web recorder, though you are selecting the web(HTTP/HTML single
protocol)

Did you identify any issues during Load Runner installation ?

Can you please send me the Recording Log information. So that we will analyze t
he issue.

Do you have admin rights in your machine ?

It might be because you enabled DEP , antivirus is forcing for restart.

1. Please disable the DEP, and observe whether it is asking for restart or no
t ?
a. If it is asking for restart then it is a issue with LR raise ticket with H
P support
i. Not sure we will get solution
ii. They might suggest for reinstall
ation
iii. Also please check Windows Vista
specific instructions and compatibility.
b. If it is not asking for restart then it is a issue with your antivirus- th
en please check with antivirus settings with support help.

Hi Mayank,

A system with Windows Vista and LoadRunner version 9.52 is not able to recording
because It was believed that this is due McAfee HIPs version 7.0.0.0. It will
make IE explorer unresponsive when beginning to record forcing user to kill the
process and then stop the recording.
Google desktop has DLLs that hook into IE explorer, after removal of Google desk
top, we can record the script.

Please follow the below steps before recording the application using VUGen and l
et me know the result.

Set "AppInit_DLLs" in the registry to point to bbhook.dll

To enable multiprocess recording, simply alter the registry setting:
From
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"=""
to
 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"="<Installation_directory>\bin\bbhook.dll"
Reboot the machine.
When trying to record using BBHook, make sure that you closed all the irrelevant
programs (e.g., e-mail, Messenger) as it will get recorded.
Note:
1. VuGen will only record applications that are started or running after recordi
ng begins.

Issue #1 :
Disable "Intel Desktop Manager" services
It seems that DLLs of the "Intel Desktop Manager" are injected into every runnin
g process. One of the DLLs, "winter32.dll," overwrites the BBHOOK code in the me
mory. This causes a crash on recording. To resolve the issue, disable "Intel Des
ktop Manager" services (if you have installed the "Intel Desktop Manager" and Lo
adRunner are on the same machine; VuGen crashes during recording.) please commun
icate with Network Admin people
Can you please try to record Google and let me know the result. Please revert fo
r any clarifications.
Issue #2:
Close all maximum no of unnecessary services on VUGen machine (services.msc)
