 Executive Summary

Average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) decreased by -1.56%
month-on-month and decreased by -20.40% year-on-year to N2155.97 in February 2018 from N2,190.07 in
January 2018.

States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas)
were Borno (N2500.00), Yobe (N2500.00), and Anambra (N2364.29). States with the lowest average price for
the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Abuja (N l,820.00), |Ebonyi
(N 1,860.00) and Ekiti (N 1,950.00).

Similarly, average price forthe refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (CookingGas) increased
by 0.12% month-on-month and decreased by -18.94% year-on-year to N4333.27 in February 2018 from
N4,327.89 in January 2018.

 Methodology

Field work is done solely by over 700 NBS Staff in all States of the federation supported by supervisors who
are monitored by internal and external observers.

Fuel Prices are collected across all the 774 local governments across all States and the FC T from over
10,000 respondents and locations and reflect actual prices households state they actually bought those
fuelstogetherwiththe prices reportedly sold by the fuel suppliers.

The average of all these prices is then reported for each state and the average for the country is the average
forthe state.

NBS audit team subsequently conducts randomly selected verification of prices recorded.
