HOW TO IDENTIFY AND MANAGE WORKPLACE BULLYING
How to identify behaviors that occur in a workplace and that attack members of a
company in an employment relationship.
The main act of harassment in the workplace is that the boss takes advantage of
his position in the company and, through humiliation, insults, lies, deteriorates the
worker's working environment, which generates dissatisfaction, sadness, that it
does so with the aim of ratifying its mandate or forcing the worker to make the
decision to resign.
This year, more than 1,406 cases of workplace harassment have been reported in
Colombia. In the first half of 2019, 1,406 cases were reported in MinTrabajo, of
which it is calculated that less than 10 percent have had any compensation in favor
of the plaintiff. (THE TIME 2019)
Harassment at work can occur between: a worker and his superior, among
colleagues, is characterized by jokes, excessive performance monitoring, too
severe or unfair criticism, confusing or incorrect instructions for work tasks, and
some that are not so notorious that generally only occur in private between the
abuser and the victim, for example, threats, humiliation and verbal or psychological
intimidation, in many cases these behaviors are very subtle and tend to hide
between jokes and friends games, at other times they are very noticeable .
Workplace harassment is a real and serious problem that affects the performance
of a company, the solution must be identified in a timely manner, to apply policies
that sanction this behavior, develop support and education programs in
interpersonal relationships to achieve a pleasant work environment, the Investment
in this field will be reflected in the final results by the proper development of its
employees' functions, optimizing their production processes and increasing their
profitability
