I. Ethical Theory
Making decisions can be challenging to make personally. It
may often complicated, involving many factors, some of them I need
to sacrifice for the sake of my decision to have a good result. The
stakes may also be high, and I need to be concerned about making
the best decision possible.

My go to ethical theories is Deontological Theory. I choose

this theory because it has a big impact in my daily living. This
theory is based on duty, a duty that need to fulfill not only for
ourselves but also for others who are involved. Everytime I make
decisions and actions I always think what duty I need to fulfill to
make my actions acceptable and right. This theory is also an
obligation, what ever decisions I make or what duty I fulfill in my
past experienced I am the one who are responsible for what ever its
consequences and outcomes will be. This theory also help me what
action or duty should come first for me to have a good outcomes.

II. Ethical Dilemma

My ethical dilemma that I experienced in my past few years

was I was in the stage of choosing between two options and that
was “to go to school but my sister will be in critical condition or to
stay at home and let my parents take good care of my sister in the
hospital.” My younger sister was confined in the hospital for almost
seven months because she has a condition of Hydrocephalus and my
parents need to be there in her side all the time to monitor her
condition because she was in the process of operation.

During that time I need to decide between the two options, but
I don't know what to choose at first because first of all I really loved
to go to school but if I'm going to excess to go to school, my parents
cannot fully monitor my sister and I don't want to see my sister in
critical condition. That time as an older sister I need to make a good
decision that can help my sister to recover faster and that decision
was, I need to fulfill my duty in Beneficence and Self-improvement.

III. Application

In Beneficence, I don’t want to see my sister in critical and I

am scared to loss her, that’s why during that time I need to make a
good decision, I need to do good to my sister and that decision is to
set aside for a while my education just to let my parents take good
care of her for her fast recovery.

But in my Self-improvement, I loved to go to school but if I'm

going to excess it my sister will be in critical condition because the
doctor already advised my parents that they need to be there
always, that's why I set aside my education and now my age was not
exact for my college year right now.

IV. Advocacy

Using my past experience I want to rise an advocacy that

making effective and sound decisions is an art that is learned
through our life experience. We learn how to make decisions during
our childhood, although we do not always realize that we are being
taught to make that decisions.

Also I want to rise an advocacy that we should always go with

the choice that scares you the most, because that’s the one thing
that is going to help you grow someday. And always remember that
whatever our decisions and duty in life that we made in the past let
there be no excuses, no explanations and no regrets. No matter
what decisions it is we should nothing to regret at all. Don't regret
anything you do any decision you make and any duty you fulfill in
the past because in the end, it will makes you who you are today.

V. Conclusion

In this term paper I there to conclude that our choices and

decisions guide our lives and build our futures whether it is a big or
small decision it will forever affect my future. Once a choice has
been made, the actions play out, and the consequence is delivered
and I have to live with those consequences. My personal choice
leads to my personal consequence.

But I never regret the decisions I made in the past even though
I set aside for a while my education and at this moment I should be
working already but I'm still studying, I never regret it instead of
regretting I just enjoying my life with my sister because I know I
successfully did my duty to her I did a good thing to her and I am
one of those people who save her and I am happy and thankful that he was given
a second life to live and to be with us.
