Foreword
WP10NG series engine is designed improving fouel supply system,
adding relevant firing system and other devices on the basis of WP615
series diesel dngine. Please read cardfully this manual and Operation and
Miantenaance Manual for WP series CGN Diesel Engine before operation.
In recent years, gas vehicles have developed atg a very fast speed in
China. But the relevant rules and standards are still being established.
Please pay attention to the latest and standards about gas vehicle .
Due to continues development of gas engine technologies andver more
stringent emission requirements the WP10 CNG engine products are
updated continuously. Therefore the instruction in this manual might have
some differences with engine, but it has no influence on the operation.
We ai to you maximum satisfaction. Please do not hesitate to contact us
if you any quires or suggestions in regard to this manual.
If you have any problems or difficulties in operating theengine, please
us know, and we will provide sincere service for you.

Caution and Operating Prcocedure

The engine has been tested strictly in accordance with the test stipula-
tions before delivery. Adjusting casually the ECM data and supercharge
radio and increasing the power of engine were forbidden. Otherwise the
factory guarantee would lose its validity, please pay attention.
The engine operator must read this Operation Maintenance Manual
carefully to know the engine’s structure. The every operation should be
under specification.
Before operating a new engine, check the fuel gas pipeline, gas supply
device and electrical parts for leakage or unreliable contact. Remedy the
trouble in time. Pay special attention to the electric circuit for loose
connection,especially the electromagnet valve plug adapter. Check the
igition wire for false conncection.
Check the votage of the battery. Enough voltage should be provided
for ignition and electric control system of the engine. So pay special
attention to the voltage of the battery.
Before using a new engine, test running should be done. Before using
a new engine, 50 hours running-in operation should be done.
After a cold starting, the speed of engine should be increased slowly.
It is forbidden to run the engine in high speed suddenly and in idling for a
long time.When stopping an engine with a heavy load, running the engine
for 5-10minutes at low idling speed firstly, and then stop it .
The engine working without air filter was forbidden.

1. Fuel, Lubricant, Coolant and Auxiliary Materi-

als Used for Gas Engine
1.1 Fuel
CNG or LNG
1.2 Lubricating oil
1)Gas Engine only use CF-4 or high-class NG dedicated oil
2)Before starting the engine,it is imperative to check the oil level
in the oil sump.
1.3 Grease
Fill the grease nipples of the grease cup of water pump and the
front support and fan bearing with general purpose lithium base
grease GB/T5671-85 vehicle.
1.4 Coolant
The cooling system should be filled with long-lasting coolant.This
liquid possesses the abilities to prevent rusting and freezing.For the
mixing ratio of long-lasting coolant ,please refer to application
instructions of the antifreeze liquid.There are two kinds of antifreeze
available in China market.

1). JFL-336 type long-lasting antifreeze liquid.

2). FK-30*long-lasting antifreeze liquid.

1.When the air temperature is lower than 0℃,the concentration of

the antifreeze and anti-rust liquid should be checked reqularly.
！ 2. For the engine running ,the water that has been processed
through rust prevention and antifouling can be used as coolant.It
is forbidden to use untreated water water as engine coolant.

1.5 The characteristics of Weichai special oil

1) Good ingredients are the guarantee of high-quality oil
Imported hydrocracking base oil and compound additives are favorable
to guarantee the good quality of lubricating oil.
2) Under normal use, oil drain interval can be extended by 3500-7000
kilometers (CH-4 can be extended by 10000 kilometers)
Outstanding high-temperature oxidation resistance and good Total
Base Number（TBN）retention can extend oil drain interval.

3 Attentions in maintenace of gas system
Regular maintenance and repair of the fuel system should be
conducted at the specialized maintenance factory with certificate
issued by the relevant authority.
Maintenance personnel must be trained specially and get certificate.
No smoking at maintenance site. Fire protection equipments should
be provided. Open fire is prohibited less than 10m from the vehicle with
gas-charged bottle(s).
Prohibit form knocking or striking gas bottle, relief valv e, pipeline,
steel bottle and various valves in maintenance.
During vehicle maintenance and trouble shooting, if it is needed to
dismantle or adjust the pipe connectors, valves, instruments, pressure
relief devices, cut off the battery power supply, close the main valve and
bottle valve at first. Check and dismantle the failure parts pressure
relieved. If the leaking/faulty position is difficult to diagnose exactly, check-
ing by open the main gas valve is permissible with the precondition of no
open fire within 10m from the vehicle. As soon as the leaking position is
confirmed, close all valves immediately and dismantle and maintenance
after the gas pressure is released.
During trouble locating of gas supply system, the main gas valve and
all bottle valves must be closed and release the gas pressure in pipeline.
All clip sleeves must be in good condition. High pressure pipeline and
clip sleeve joint can be used only once. Leakage test should be done with
gas leak tester or soap water after maintenance.
Blow the pipelines after dismantling and checking of pipelines and
various connectors to prevent dirt form entering the fuel pipelines.
During washing vehicles , the engine electronic system components
should be paid more attention, for example: spark plug、ignition coil and
the injection nozzle.
If the NG bus is strored for a long time ,the pressure of the gas tank
shoud betweeen 0.2Mpa and 2Mpa.
Several instructions should be followed: turn off the tank valve\cut off
the vehicle electricity supply\keep away goods and inflammable staff\ the
place where the bus is stored should be installed a ventilation system and
periodic ventilation is required.
The tank pressure must not be higher than 5Mpa when the NG Bus is
transportted by train\ship or trailer.
During the transportation, please turn off the tank valve 、cut off the
vehicle electricity supply and the busy should be tightly fastened.

4 Maintenance of the engine regular maintenance

In order to guide you to operate the engine correctly, please read
the Operation and Maintenance Manual carefully and abide by the operations
rules in the manual. If the engine was failed, please contact Weichai
Maintenance and Service Center or Weichai User Service Center as soon
as possible. We will offer effective service to you timely.

“Maintenance Record Table” should be filled by Maintenance and

Service Centre in repair and preserved by user.

Warranty Explanation
1. Service promises
In the service region of Weichai Maintenance and Service Centre,
after received information from users and verifying that service is ne -
eded, our maintenance team shall get to the place within 24 hours in
which the service centre is located, within 48 hours for city areas, and within
72 hours for remote areas.
( remote areas or force majeure factors excluded)
2. Special attention
● The engine operator must read the Operation and Maintenance
Manual carefully and abide by the operation rules in the Manual, and
pay attention to the warning directions and marks.
● The engine has been tested strictly in accordance with the test stip -
ulations before delivery. The throttle has been sealed. It is forbidden to di-
smantle the seal optionally and to enlarge the throttle. Otherwise, Weichai
will not be responsible for free repair.
● Some bolts of the engine are strictly specified for torque req -
uirement and times of use. It is forbidden to loosen main bearing bolts and
connecting rod bolts. See Operation and Maintenance Manual for detail.
● Before using a new engine, a 50-hour commissioning should be
performed.
● After the engine is started from a cold state, do not increase the
engine speed suddenly, and do not run at idle speed for a long time.
● After the engine is stopped, if the ambient temperature was lower than
0°C and no antifreeze is used, the water in water tank and in diesel en -
gine should be drained off.
● It is forbidden to operate the engine without a air cleaner and try to pr-
event unfiltered air from entering into the cylinder. In severe working
conditions, clean or replace the air filter element more frequently, so
as to prevent early abrasion of engine.
● Applied fuel and lubricating oil must be in accordance with specified
grades and filtered by strainer, and a special clean container should be used.
The fuel should be settled for more than 72 hours.

3. The principle and stipulation of warranty service
● The principle of warranty Service
The engine purchased by users or fitted on other machinery, in case of
using and maintaining normally within the guarantee period, the damage or
trouble caused by manufacture and assembly etc. should be paid by our
company.
● Time limit of warranty service (shown in appendixtable)
(1) For the end product of our company, the starting date of warranty
period is in accordance with the date on our sales invoice, warranty card or
the formal invoice of the distributor (It should be within the 12-month oil seal
period of the engine).
(2) For the matching products, the starting date of guarantee period is in
accordance with the date on sales invoice or warranty card of the matched
product ( It should be within the 12-month oil seal period of the engine).
4.Following conditions are excluded by warranty
● Early wear and trouble arising from improper operation and mainten-
ance, e.g.: damages from careless load and unload during transportation
the engine by users, operation conditions beyond the specified range in
the operation manual, over-speed or over-load operation; run-in, inspection,
adjustment and tightening not abiding by the operation manual, improper
match, usage of incorrect fuel, oil or antifreeze etc.
● Troubles arising from refitting, adjusting and disassembling the posi -
tions and parts that are not allowed to adjust and disassemble casually
according to the product specification.
● Oil, antifreeze, filter element, hose and belt etc. for normal operation
and maintenance are not in the range of warranty service
● No warranty card or valid invoice, or no evidence that proves the pr -
oduct is in warranty period.
● The specification and model of product in the guarantee card or inv -
oice differs from that of the requested product for three guarantees, or the
card and invoice was altered.
● Instead of maintaining the original damaged situation after trouble
occurs, user treats the trouble presumptuously and the reason or
trouble can not be verified.
