The Antecedents
Petitioners are private corporations engaged in
the pawnshop business and are compulsorily
registered with
the Social Security System (SSS) under Republic Act
(R.A.) No. 8282,5 otherwise known as the Social
Security Law of 1997.6
AMENDING FOR THIS PURPOSE, REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1161, AS AMENDED, OTHERWISE
KNOWN AS THE SOCIAL SECURITY LAW (May 1, 1997).
