Weeks:

Week 1: Intro to team and project - studio meeting

• We got into groups
• Emailed 16s
• They arranged a meeting for us later that week
• They gave us the brief which was initially to develop a cartoon for 6-9 year olds which
would include a tv bible and an animatic trailer
• The task was to come up with an idea to pitch and work on for the next few weeks

Week 2: Pitching Ideas

• After last weeks meeting we split into teams of 3, each working on a different cartoon
idea
• We were working on sharks in shirts (eilis aoife ryan)
• (pictures of the developments)
• We pitched the ideas to 16s who thought that sharks was the best and so we settled on
that for the idea
• Eilis chosen as visionary director

Week 3: Art developing

• Everyone was involved in concept art and expanding the world
• There wasnt really a set art style yet
• (early character designs)
• We pitched these to 16s and got feedback on them, which led to some changes or
removal of characters altogether

Week 4: Further development

• 16s told us that by adding so many animal characters, the sharks lost their shock factor
so the show wasnt as interesting anymore because the sharks now felt “normal”
• Ryan was chosen as Art Directors
• First model sheet
• Suggestion to remove the hecklers perhaps
Week 6:
• No meeting due to 16s being in Miami
• Aoife starts writing episodes
• Ryan was directing the new concepts
• Characters were cut and redesigned/humanised
• Jack and Aynsley working on backgrounds

• Move to online meetings due to covid 19
• Just a quick meeting on skype explaining what to do next
• Settled on using Teams to communicate
• Aoife finished ep boarding - went back to writing eps/tv bible with eilis
• Talked about episode lengths
• The age got changed to 8 to 10
• John pumps out the interaction images
• Ryan redesigns some of the player characters
• Ryan looks into logo design
• Aoife to board animatic, Eilis on character cleanup
• Aoife and Eilis send over trailer scripts

Week 11:

• 16s couldnt meet with us this week

• Aoife and eilis write the new script
• Animatic was made, ready to use for the presentation
• Ryan made the changes to eyes and colour palette

• Presentation to show to class

• Got positive feedback from tutors
• Animatic: Sarah said she thought the animatic flowed well and understood what was
happening and what the show was about
• 16s loved the new animatic and script, the grind was worth it and we achieved
enlightenment
• 16s liked the new colour palette changes and the eyes
• Final line up completed
• Grinding to finish the tv bible - art team making interactions, jack continued to make bgs
for the interaction images.
