Manpower Planning
1. Purpose
To ensure that the manpower levels required are identified, planned for and
maintained annually and during the work on hand process.

2. Scope
This procedure is applicable company wide.

3. Responsibility

3.1 Department Heads/ General Manager is responsible to plan the annual


recruitment and Annual Manpower plan.
3.2 General Manager is responsible for budgeting the required manpower.

4. Procedure

4.1. Annual Manpower Plan.


4.1.1. During the annual budgeting phase a plan for required manpower is
developed and submitted to the general manager for approval Annual
Recruitment Plan MTD-QPF-09-01.
4.1.2. As per the approved plan by General Manager request is made to HR for
recruitment.
4.1.3 For additional manpower requirements not included in this plan, a Request
for New Staff form is updated MTD-QPF-09-02 and submitted to HR.

4.2. Manpower Available.


4.2.1. The available staff skill sets and performance of current work force is
assessed and training given if lacking (cross ref. SOP-QSP-07).
4.2.2. Minimum manning levels are assessed when:
a) Large orders are received.
b) Work volumes are increased or decreased
c) Annually, to access suitability or conformance to annual plan.
4.2.3. Manpower Availability Tool is maintained MTD-QPF-09-03 and is
updated by HR with planned leave
4.2.4. Minimum manning level requirement per job type are set and managed
for conformance.
