Joshua had sent out two spies to spy out the land of

suitable. That place was the house of Rahab, the harlot.

These Israelites imagined that if they wandered casually

noticed because she was always receiving men at all hours

0 0 of the day and night. They imagined that they would
just be accepted as two more of her clientele.

~ They climbed the stony, cobbled steps that led to her
house, which the Bible tells us, was actually on the wall
of the city, and entered in. Rahab received them but she
was very soon to learn that they had not come to do
business with her, but had come to hide, and so preserve
their own lives, in hope of getting back to Joshua's camp
with their report of the city of Jericho. Rahab, very quickly
saw that these were men of God. When the report had
gotten around that two strangers that looked like Israel-
ites had gone into the house of Rahab, a search was made.

_:. upon the door of Rahab's house. They said, "We heard
that some strangers came in here." Rahab said, "Yes,
men are always coming here.' Everybody knows about me
and my business. Men come from far and wide. They have
come and they have gone. If you hope to catch up with
them you had better get out and get going."
The men had not come to do business with Rahab, nor
had they gone. The Scriptures tell us she had hidden them
alW>ng the bundles of flax that she was drying on the
roof of her house.
With that background here is the text:
"And before they were laid down, she came up unto
them upon the roof; And she said unto the men, I
know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that
your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabi-

tants of the land faint because of you. For we have
heard 'how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea
for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye
did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were
on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye
utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these
things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain
any more courage in any man, because of you: for
the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in
earth beneath." (Joshua 2 :8-11)
RAHAB'S REVELATION
I think we should face facts. Sometimes an old sinner
like this has more revelation than many well-to-do, good,
clean living persons. Rahab was wicked. It isn't possible
to over emphasize the wrongness of the kind of life that
she had been living. But, thank God, though she had lost
all of her virtues, perhaps most of her values, she still
maintained the ability to believe. When these Israelites
came into her house and she looked upon them, she very
soon began to feel the divine presence of God. She said,
"We know about you. We know that your God is a God
of miracles. We know that He opened the Red Sea; that
He has given you victory after victory;' that He has made
you exceedingly mighty in the land. We know that wherever
you have marched, victory has followed in your wake. We
are fearful, deathly afraid of you. Our very soldiers have
lost their courage. Their hearts melt within them be-
cause of your great God, whom I know to be the God of
heaven and the God of earth."
In verse twelve she says: "Now therefore, I pray you,
swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you
kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's
house, and give me a true token: And that ye will save
alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and
my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives
from death. And the men answered her, Our life for
your's, if ye utter not this our business. And it sh~ll
be, when the Lord hath given us the land, that we WIll
deal kindly and truly with thee. Then she let them down

by a cord through the window: for her house was upon
the town wall, and she dwelt upon· the wall. And she
said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers
meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until
the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go
your way. And the men said unto her, We will be blame-
less of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.
Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind
this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst
let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy
mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household,
home unto thee. And it shall be, that whosoever shall go
out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood
sh.all be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and who-
soever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be
on our head, if any hand be upon him. And if thou utter
this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which
thou hast made us to swear. And she said, According
unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and
they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the
window." (Joshua 2 :12-21)
RAHAB'S REPENTANCE
"But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied
out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring
out thence the woman, and ·all that she hath, as ye sware
unto her. Arid the young men that were spies went in,
and brought Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and
her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out
all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel
. . . . And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her
father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth
in Israel even unto this day." (Joshua 6 :22-23; 25)
After Rahab had learned the real reason for the visit
of these men, namely that judgment was coming to the
city, that the Israelite armies were coming in, she knew·
God was with them. She knew they were going to bombard
the city. She knew that God would give them victory.
She knew that God would bless them; that every man,
woman, boy and girl, all the cattle, every creeping, c,rawl-
ing, living thing would fall before their swords, under
the weight of their spears. She began to plead with the
men. She said, "I have protected you. I have showed
kindness unto you. I am only a harlot. I am a wicked
woman. I am numbered among the evil ones of this city.
But I have showed you goodness. I have shown you
kindness. I want you to swear to me that if I continue
to conceal you and to hide you from those who search
for you, I want you to promise me that you will save
my house. You will save me, my mother, my father, my
brothers, my sisters and all that they have."
What could the men say? It was their lives for hers.
If Rahab betrayed them, then surely they would never
get back with the report. If, on the other hand, she con-
cealed them, they would be somewhat bound to guarantee
her protection. Not only her protection, but the protection
of her mother, her father, her brothers, her sisters and
all of their possessions.
I have heard of lots of fathers and mothers pleading
for their wicked sons, crying out for their wicked daught-
ters, but this is perhaps the first instance, at least in the
Word of God, where we find a wicked, sinful daughter
crying out for the life of her father, mother, brothers and
her sisters and all their possessions.
I imagine that Rahab had broken her father's heart.
I see that dear grey-headed old man, denying that Rahab,
his daughter, even lives. Perhaps one inquires, "How IS it
with your daughter, Rahab?" He would snap back, "I
have no daughter. My daughter is dead." And perhaps the
inquiring party would say, 'Why I heard that Rahab was
still alive. I heard that she had a house somewhere in this
city." Mother would grab father's arm. The tears would
come into his eyes. His lips would begin to quiver and he
would say, "My daughter is dead, I don't have a daughter."
He had cut her off because of the kind of girl she had
become and the kind of life that she was now living. He
was ashamed to be called her father, ashamed that she
should be called his daughter. It was easier to lie and
to say, "She is dead." More than once, I imagine, mother
says, "Father, ·why don't we try to contact Rahab? Why

don't we try to contact our little girl? Maybe it is not too
late." And I hear father say, "Mother, I'll never go down
to that part of town. I'll never be seen climbing those
steps. I'll never be seen knocking on that door. I want
nothing to do with her, and nothing to do with her
friends." The old man was taking a stand against his
daughter Rahab. He begins to reason with her aged
mother. Finally she says, 'Well, dear, I suppose you are
right. But you know, no matter what Rahab has done
or where she has gone, she is still my girl." And· father
says, "Enough of that! You are too soft. Where is your
sense of values? Where is your sense of decency? Don't
you know what she has done to our name? Don't you
know what sh~ has done to our reputation? Don't you
know how we have been hurt and harmed'? Oh, she is a
wicked one! I prefer to think of her as being one dead."
RAHAB REJECTED
I have a picture in my mind of Rahab's brethren. I see
one of. her young brothers. He is a fine young man, up-
standing in every way. He has made a way for himself
in the business world. He is respected by everybody. But he
too, refuses to admit that he has a sister by the name of
Rahab. Perhaps somebody says to him, "I h~ard that the
woman that lives in the house on the wall is some kind of.
a relative of yours.'.' He said, "I don't know what you
are talking about. I don't have a relative by the name
of Rahab." Then, perhaps his inquiring friend might
say, "Well, I'm glad to hear that, because this girl that
some say you are connected to is a harlot. She hasn't a
decent bone in her body. She is wicked and evil. Her and
all the rest of her kind ought to be burned at the stake
and this city cleansed." .
I tell you friends, there is only one thing worse than sin,
and that is .self-righteousness. There is only one thing
worse than a life of open sin, and that is the stinking,
rotten stench of self-righteousness. If there were not so
many self righteous people in the world today, there
might be a lot less harlots.
I am able to see one of Rahab's sisters. She is a good
girl. She is the kind of girl that has stuck by Mom and
Dad, the kind you can depend oil. She is the kind of girl
that is always around. Many times she puts her arms
around her aged mother's neck. She kisses her and says,
'Mama, I'll never leave you. I'll stay with you. You can
count on me. I know what Rahab has done to you. I know
how she has broken your heart, but you can count on
me. I'll stay with you, Mother."
I can see this girl taking this kind of attitude. I can
see mother stroking her head, and returning her kisses
and saying, "Yes, Rahab has let us all down. She has
brought us into disgrace. My God, Rahab will bring us
down to our graves in sorrow." Perhaps I hear the mother
confiding to the daughter and saying, "I hate to say it,
but it would be better for all of us if Rahab were dead."
RAHAB'S RELATIVES
Little did they know that while they were talking like
this, Rahab was pleading for the life of her father, the
life of her mother, the life of her brothers and the life
of her sisters. Little did they know that this wicked,
sinful daughter of theirs that had helped grey their heads
and helped wrinkle their faces, and help humble and break
down their stand in the community, was to be the means
of their own salvation. Rahab does not say, "I'll show
you kindness, now let me escape with you." Rahab doesn't
say, "Take me back with you in the hours of the night.
Take me out of this city that I know God is going to give
you." Instead she said, 'Give me the promise that you will
save my father, my mother, and my brothers and sisters."
Perhaps the spies said, "Rahab, let us take you with us, for
when we come into this wicked city, we are coming in like
a. great storm. We are coming in with our infantry, with
our cavalry, with our bowmen, our slingers, our spearmen
and we will not spare this city. Come with us Rahab.
We will reward thee for thy kindness. But come with us,
or we cannot promise thee anything if thou dost abide
here."
I imagine Rahab saying, "Nay, but I will abide here.
I must wait until I speak with my father and mother. I
must wait until my brothers and my sisters have heard
of the coming judgment. I must wait until I have had

time to Warn them. I cannot go with you. I must wait. I
couldn't leave without my dear father, my precious mother,
my brothers and my sisters. My heart would ache. They
have cut me off, and rightly so. I have been a wicked
woman, but I couldn't leave knowing that sure and certain
destruction would come to them."
She prevails upon the spies and finally they say, "Well,
Rahab, we will make you a promise. We will promise
you that if you continue to hide our identity and assist
us to escape, we will promise you that every person that
is brought into your house will be delivered, will be
spared." But they said, "I think that we had better warn
you that if any dare to leave your house and walk out
into the streets, their lives will be in their own hands."
And so the spies continuing said, "This cord that you
plan letting us out of the window, leave it hanging out of
the window. It is red, scarlet. We can see it by night.
Joshu:;l will command every soldier to look for the red
cord, the crimson line. And when we see the crimson line
we will spare your house." ,
RAHAB'S REVELATION
Now, remember that "Rahab's house was on the wall,
on the self-same wall that fell down flat; on the self-
same wall that fell down inward. But because of her faith
in the God of the Israelites, when the wall fell down and
fell flat, there was one little corner left standing, as though
the wall never had been shaken, as though the wall had
never fallen! On the top of the pile of that unshaken brick
wall was the house of Rahab the harlot. And hanging out of
the window for everybody to see was the crimson line that
speaks of the blood of Christ.
Now the spies are gone. I see Rahab as she takes a scarf
and wraps it around her head, as she prepares to evange-
lize at least her loved ones. First she will go to her father's
house. Can't you see her as she hurries down the cobbled
steps, and makes her way through the dusty streets on and
on and over the hill. Finally she comes to the house, perhaps
where she was born. I hear Rahab as she knocks on the
door, "Mama, Papa, it's Rahab. Open up, it's your daugh-
ter! I hear the old man, first he looks out of the lattice

and he beholds Rahab. He staggers back somewhat, and.
he says to Mama, "It's Rahab 1 It's Rahab 1" She cries,
"Papa, please open the door, I have to talk to you. It
is your daughter." . coming to this city. God gave me a revelation and God
The old man cries back, "I have no daughter 1" She
cries, "Papa, its I, don't you know me? It's Rahab." He
says, "I don't know you 1 I have no daughter." I see him
squeezing Mama's hand and fighting back the tears now
as she says, "Papa, I don't care what you think about me.
I don't care anymore, but I have to talk to you. There is
s~mething I have to tell you. Papa, would you please open
the door?"
Papa says, "Begone 1 Begone from here 1 I want nothing
to do with you and nothing to do with your kind. Haven't
you hurt your father and your mother enough? Look
what you have done to our name 1 I don't know you. I don't
want to know you. As far as I am concerned you are dead.
I wish to God that you were." Just then I hear Mama cry
out, "Papa 1 Papa how can you say that? It's Rahab 1 She
is your daughter and mine, she's our flesh 1 Papa 1 Papa 1"
She pulls away from the old man and makes for the door.
RAHAB'S OUTREACH
Mama opens the door and she opens her arms. The tears
are streaming down her cheeks. Rahab says, "Mama,
Mama I" And soon they are locked in a loving embrace.
A self-righteous mother, a mother whose doctrines were
all correct, a mother who had all the truth in the world,
perhaps, but the one truth that was needed to save their
lives, namely, the truth that sudden judgment was coming.
They sobbed in each others arms and Rahab says,
"Mama, get Papa to listen. Mama get him please. I've got
a message. I've got to tell you something. The God of
Abraham, Jacob and Isaac is going to judge this city."
Papa heard those words as they came from the library
through the passageway where the girl is still standing,
and he said, "Who are you to talk about judgment? God
is going to judge this city 1 If God is going to judge this
city, it is not your papa and your mama that are going to
be judged. It's not your brothers and your sisters, it's
.you and your wicked clan. It's you and all the incorrigible

rotten ones like you that will be judged."
"Papa," she said as she falls at his feet, "the men came
to me-men of Israel, and they told me that they were
said, "I am the God of heaven, and of the earth, and the
Israelites, the God that opened the Red Sea and brought
them out of Egyptian bondage and surely I will put this
city into their hands." Papa is starting to soften" perhaps
a little bit, and he says, "What have we got to worry
about? This is the strongest walled city in the world.
Even the Israelites, their spears, and their slings, their
bowmen and their horses, even their chariots couldn't break
down this great wall I"
"Papa, you don't understand. The God of heaven is with
them 1The God of might, the God of miracles 1 Papa, I know
this is a walled city, I know this is a great fortress, but
Papa, there is no wall high enough to keep out the God
of the Israelites."
"There is no city fortified enough to hold back those who
have the God of heaven and earth to fight for them."
Rahab continues and says, "Papa, I'm everything that
you say I am. I am dirty, I am rotten, I am unclean. There
is nothing good about me, Papa. You were right, Papa,
you were absolutely right. I am just the kind of girl you
said I would always be. But, Papa, for once in my life, I
want to do something good. For once in my life, I want
to do something clean, I want to do something for some-
one else. I have lived to please myself. I have lived in sin,
in wickedness. The very dress that I have on, I have
bought with the money I earned from the sale of my
body 1 I have lived for the pleasures of this world. I have
lived in the dives and the dens of sin. Everything you say
and think is all true. But Papa, please let me do one right
thing in my life. Let me do one right thing 1 This is my
chance, this is my opportunity! Wh"o knows? Perhaps the
God of Israel will touch my sinning soul. Perhaps the God
of Israel will make me different 1"
RAHAB'S REVIVAL
The old inan can't contain himself very much longer.
He is weakening. I see Mama. She turns to him and says,
"Papa, Papa, don't you remember Rahab was our first
born? Do you remember how we loved each other and
how much we meant one to the other, and the joy that
she brought into our home?" Papa says, "Mama, don't
don't!" And she says, "Yes, you must remember, this is
your child!"
I see the old man pushing Mama aside and taking
a big clumsy stride toward Rahab and his arms are
out. He says, "Rahab, my daughter!" They are locked
in a loving embrace, and they weep. He weeps and she
weeps and their tears mingle. The tears of the self-right-
eous father and the tears of the sinning daughter are said
to mingle.
He says, "Rahab, I have never really hated you. I
have never really turned you down in my heart. I had
just hoped that. by cutting you off, you might come to
your senses! Can it be, Rahab, I had hoped to save you?
Can it be that you have come to save us?" Rahab says,
"Papa, let's talk some other time. We have got to go to
my brothers and sisters. We've got to get them into
my house. There is deliverance only for those in the
house, where the scarlet line hangs."
Mama packs their belongings, at least as much as they
were able to carry. They saddled the old ass and they
made for the brother's house. Papa knocks on the door and
the brother opens the door and says, "Papa, come on in.
I'm so glad to see you, and Mama . . . who is that?"
Papa says, "Now son, that is your sister." "She's no
sister of mine! Why you have been telling for years that
she was dead. I don't want her in my house. My reputation
would be ruined. What do you think' my business friends
will think? What do you think my neighbors will think?
Everybody knows her. She is a prostitute! She is a harlot!
She's anybody and everybody's girl for a price! People
know her. She is like an old landmark around this city.
What do you think it is going to do to me, Papa? Get
her out of here!"
"Son, you had better listen." And Mama says, "Son,
Rahab has come to save 'u'J!" "To save us? Ha! Her? Don't
'you think she had better save herself?" Rahab said, "I

know what you think about me, And it is all true. But I
had to come. God is going to destroy this city. Judgment
is on the way. I have the revelation from God."
"You've got the revelation from God? Don't you know
we have got our tabernacles. We have got our temples and
priests. Since when does God give revelations to harlots?"
"God is' going to destroy this' city and every man,
woman,' boy and girl that is outside of my house will die,
fqr only my' house will be spared!
"Do you mean to tell me that the mayor is going to die?
Do you mean to tell me the fire chief is going to die?
The chief surgeon is going to die? And what about th~
chief of police? Are they going to die too? And only you and
your house is going to be spared!" .
"It's true my brother, it's true! Tarry not, for judg-
ment is already on the way." And soon, the brother is
con~inced, although he hates the thought of it, it goes
against his pride, it rubs against his grain, he joins this
band and heads for the sister's house.
RAHAB'S ROOF
Then Rahab appeals again and finally they are climbing
the cobbled stairs that lead to the house of the harlot. As
soon as they ascended the stairs, they could smell that
perfume. They could detect that odor. They knew only
too well this was a dive. It was a den. It was a cave of
wicked, sinful love. When they would come into the house,
perhaps for the very first time, I see them pushing past the
drapes and Rahab says, "Come on in, come in, come in."
They see the quilts, the tapestries, the fineries so common
to women of this type. It repulsed them. But that was the
only place of safety.
I see Rahab, she has her family in, and now she goes
out after some of the wicked friends. After some of her
evil type-some that are like unto herself. She begins to
appeal to them and to preach to them that judgment is
coming. Finally the house is full. Every space is taken.
The house is crowded. There is Mama and Papa, there is
the brothers and sisters, their husbands and wives and
their little children. Rahab has the crimson cord out of
the window. Rahab is saving her house.

 No wonder in Hebrews chapter 11 :31, Rahab is men-
tioned with the champions of faith. It says by faith
Rahab . . . . . She hid the spies and she saved her house.
The terrible day of battle had dawned and the Israelites
were coming in full force. How strange it was' for the first
seven days. They were walking around those walls blowing
trumpets, chanting, singing and finally came the seventh
day and seven times they marched around and blew with
the trumpet and shouted with a shout and the walls fell
down! They fell inward and they .fell flat. But the house
of Rahab the harlot stood. The house of "doctor do-good"
came down. The house of "Brother and Sister Self-right-
eousness" was smashed into a thousand pieces. The church
on· the street corner came thundering down with a terrible
crash! The prophets and the priests, and the worshippers
as well. But the house of Rahab the harlot stood still. I
would rather be in the house of a harlot, knowing that
the blood of .Jesus Christ was sprinkled on the lintels and
the doorpost than be in the finest cathedral in the country
when the bombs come.
RAHAB'S ROPE
After the walls fell flat, the Israelites climbed up over
the rubble and made their attack. Their bowmen, their
spearmen, their slingers of stones, the record tells us that
every man, every woman, every boy, every girl, every
sucking child was destroyed in the slaughter. But Rahab,
her father, her mother, her brothers, her sisters were
taken back to the camp of the Israelites and there they
lived out their days. In Matthew's gospel, you read that
Jesus, the Messiah, descends from the lineage of Rahab
the harlot.
I tell you, I'd rather have a church full of blood-washed,
spirit-filled harlots than a church full of white-washed
self-righteous men and women who' don't know God and
don't know the Spirit and don't want to know God! God
doesn't want you to be white-washed. He wants you to
be blood-washed, washed in the blood and filled with the
Spirit. It is easy to be whitewashed. It is easy to be
covered over. You must be washed white.
Our Lord Jesus Himself, spoke of some who were like

whited sepulchres. Some of you can say, "I have never done
a thing wrong. I have never touched a drink, I have never
smoked a cigarette, I have never been into the world."
Maybe you haven't, but you will still go to hell unless you
are washed in the blood and" filled with the Spirit. Some
people are so self-righteous and stuffed full of pride they
can't even raise your hands to praise the Lord! May God
have mercy on you!
Judgment is coming! Rahab had nothing to be proud
about. She was wicked. She was evil. She was sinful. But
she had a revelation from God. She heard from God, she
got the revelation! She knew that· judgment was coming,
and she knew that all who were not within her house
and cleansed, symbolically by the crimson cord, would be
lost.
RAHAB REMEMBERS
Remember what the spies had said. They said, "As long
as they stay in your house where the bloodline is clearly
to be seen, it will be all right. But if they get out of the
house, and walk into the streets, we are free from our
oath."
It isn't enough to be related to somebody under the
blood. It isn't enough to be connected to somebody under
the blood. You've got to be in the house! There are too
many calling themselves children of God, but they are not
in the house. They are every place else. Deliverance was
promised only to those who were in the house when the
siege was on. Rahab is mentioned in the New Testament
at least twice. James speaks of her faith. He speaks also
of her works. Thank God for RahAb! I notice that more
than once the ungodly repented and preached the gospel
in Bible times with tremendous success. I think of Rahab
saving her house, her father, her mother, her brothers",
her sisters and all their possessions.
I think of the ungodly sea captain that climbed down
the sides of that tossing, rolling ship to awaken Jonah
and say, "Call upon your God, if so be He will have mercy
on us and save us."
Are you saved? Maybe Papa and Mama have given you
up. Your brothers and sisters may have thought of you

 as being the black sheep, the Hodd man out." But God
is speaking to your heart and giving you a revelation of
the nearness of Christ's coming, the suddenness of fearful
destruction. God has made you to know that only those
under the blood and in the Father's house can hope to be
saved. You are saying that you want to take this reve-
lation to your house and family, and not only be saved
yourself but bring others into the ark of safety.
CHAPTER II
THE RED ROPE
The Lord wants to send a world wide revival and He
wants to begin in you. He wants you to believe God for big
things.
And the spies said unto her, HIf ye utter not this our
business our life shall be for your life, for ye have worked
with us the Lord's people." And she let them down over
the wall. And they said unto her, Hput this cord, whereby
ye have let us down over the wall, in your window and
bring into your house your father and all of your kinsmen
and we will save alive every man in this house. But if any
man goes out of the house, his blood shall be upon his
head."
INDIVIDUALITY
Here is a picture of desperation. Here is a picture of
realistic thinking. Here is a picture of action in the hour
of destiny and crisis. Here is a woman who took a look. at
things as they were and not as she thought they might
be, or she might like for them to be. The Bible is the
story of God's dealing with individuals, and individuals'
experiences with God. One of the dangers to me, to you,
to all of us, is this: That we will somehow drift along and
think, HWell God deals with peoples, God is dealing with
America, God dealt with Israel, God dealt with Babylon,
and I'll just go along, and I think things will work out
some way."
But J;hat is not the way of it! The Bible is not just the
story of God dealing with Israel. It is the story of God
dealing with individuals. This is an individual business.
.Your life story is going to be written on the basis of an

individual relationship with God and not what your de-
nomination, or your nationality, or your family, or your
community, or your city did. The story of your life is not
going to be written on the basis 'of what your city did
about Jesus Christ. It will not be on the basis of what
Grandma or Grandpa or Great Aunt Suzy did; the story
of your life is going to be of your personal contact and
relationship with the power of Almighty God, and how
you walked with God, how you talked with God, how you
worked with God, and how God's power worked in your
heart and in your life.
God has never made the story of somebody's life depend
on ·what the nation did, or what the denomination or
family did. God has made our lives, our future, our career,
our destiny, our salvation depend on what we do with the
visitation of God in His time. If my brother does not want
to go, I can go. If my mother does not want to go, I can go.
If the family does not want to go, I can still go. If the
. church does not want the fire, I can still burn with the fire
of God. If the people do not want the power, I can still have
the power of God in my life and in my time.
HOUR OF DECISION
Rahab looked around and something got hold of her.
This says something to me. Some people say, HWell, if our
church would ever get stirred up, I guess I would get
.moved too." No, you would not! If the whole church
moved, you would' stay parked. Why? Because the Spirit
that moves, is moving right now. The power of God is
going across this land, and the fire of God is burning, the
word of God is working, the Spirit of God is in operation.
We don't have to have a house full for you to be on
fire. God does not have to have a crowd to get you going.
God does not have to have a mighty storm to get you
moving. All it takes is you getting with God and God
getting with you and you yielding to God and let Him
operate in your heart and life.
Something got hold of Rahab. She sensed that this was
the hour of destiny and she had to look a~j)und and decide
what she was going to do with it. HAm I going to go

with the crowd?" You" go downtown tonight and see if
you want to go with the crowd. Go down and watch them
stumbling and staggering horne so drunk they don't know
the way horne. Go read the records of the courts, the drug
addicts, the broken homes, the broken lives and see if you
want to go with the crowd.
Rahab said, "I know something is about to take place.
r know this city is not going to stand. I see the handwriting
on the wall." Go through the institutjons for the mentally
deranged, go through the private sanitariums, as well as
the State asylums. Go through the psychiatric wards of
our hospitals. Go down and talk to our doctors. Go out
and talk to our military men and talk about the possibilities
of this world being rocked and set back two thousand years
with atomic war. Read the Revelation and read how a third
of the water is" going to turn to blood, how a third of the
grass is going to be burned up, how a third of the fish are
going to die in the sea. Read the Revelation of how the
wormwood is going to kill a third of the people with the
poison bitter water. Read how the scorpions are going to
sting the people.
Rahab saw the handwriting on the wall and woke up
and said, "I want to be on the right side. I want to be
with the right crowd. I know this city is going to corne
down."
WHEN WALLS CRUMBLE
When God decides to march around your little walls,
things are going to rock. Preachers can preach and people
can talk, but when God starts walking, God starts march-
ing! They marched for six days and nothing happened.
But the seventh day they marched and God marched with
them. When God marched around those walls, they shook
and shattered and went down! I know, I have been there.
I have crawled around through them. I have seen those
walls that went straight down into the ground. You can
build your little economic or social walls, your business or
spiritual walls. You can think, "Well, I am fixed from
now on." But when God starts marching around the walls
_of your life, they will corne down.

Rahab recognized this thing. She said, "These walls
can't protect me." America's balistic missiles can not pro-
tect you. America's dollars cannot protect you. America's
educational program cannot protect you. America's social
program cannot protect you. We are naked and open
before Him with Whom we have to live and move and have
our being. In this hour I want the Holy Ghost to come
down and build a wall around me. A wall built upon a
foundation that no other man can lay, the foundation that
is laid in Christ Jesus. I want a wall built that hell can't
scale. I want a wall built that demons cannot get through.
I want a wall built that the storms cannot shake down.
I want a wall built that will let me dwell in the secret
place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of
the Almighty. I want a wall built that doubts can't push
through. I want a wall built that the rocks are not going
to pop out with the earthquakes of hell that are coming to
pass. I want a wall built by the hand of almighty God.
Until I can survive the storms, I can repel the enemies, I
can stop the opposition, I can live under the shadow of the
Almighty and say, "The Lord, He is my refuge and my
God and in Him will I trust."
PLACE OF SAFETY
Someone said to a lady two years ago when bomb
shelters were all the rage, "Have you folks put in a
bomb shelter?" She said, "Yes, we surely have." "Oh,
you have? Well, we have been" figuring on putting one
in too, but we can't decide whether to use steel or cement
or reinforced cement or just what. What did you folks
build of?" She said, "Feathers." "Feathers?" She said,
"Yes, we chose feathers." The neighbor said, "what is
the joke?" She said, "That is no joke. We feel like we
have the best bomb shelter that can be had."
"And you built it out of feathers? I have never heard
of that one before." She said, "Yes, 'He shall cover thee
with His feathers, and under His wings shall thou trust."
That neighbor looked like someone had hit him with a
hammer. After awhile he went home and about bedtime
the phone rang and she picked it up. He said, "Lady,

would you tell me again about that feather bomb shelter?
Where do you find out about it?"
She said, "Do you have a Bible? Turn to the 91st
Psalm." Brother, he is still talking about that feather
bomb shelter!
Raha.b looked at these men. She said, "We have heard
about your God. We have heard what the Lord did to the
Egyptians that were on the other side. We have heard
about your God. We have heard that Pharaoh couldn't
stop you and his chariots could not stop you. We have
heard his soldiers could not hold you. We have heatd
the Red Sea could not drown you. We have heard that the
desert could not starve you. We have heard the sun could
not burn you. Your God covered you with a pillow of
cloud by day and tucked you in bed with a pillow of fire
at night. We have heard that your clothes would not wear
out. God would touch them every night and you would
have a new suit every morning. We have heard you did
not get hungry. You would get all you could eat every
morning, and the wind brought you flesh. We have heard
about your God. We have heard that He said, "The eternal
God is your _refuge and underneath are the everlasting
arms." We have heard that He said He would heal your
bodies because He is the Lord that healeth you. We have
heard that He said He would bless you when you go out
and bless you when you come in; when you lie down and
when you get up. He would bless you when you walk by
the wayside, bless your family, your field, your flocks,
and everything you had. He would be your God and you
would be His people. We have heard about your God!"
FAITH BY HEARING
My soul is on fire. In God's name, will you pray for
the Holy Spirit to move in and walk and talk to you until
your friends, neighbors and city will say, "We have heard
about your God. We have heard He is the same, yesterday,
today and forever. We have heard they buried Him and
He rose again; they killed Him and He came back to
life; they did away with Him and He came back. We have
·heard that devils could not bind Him and demons could

not stop Him. We have heard He healed all manner of
sickness an diseases. We have heard He is ascended up
into heaven. We have heard He sits at the right hand of
God the Father, Almighty. We have heard He pours out
His holy Spirit upon everyone that will believe in His
Name. We have heard that we can be forgiven by the blood
of Jesus Christ, that He is walking among His people,
talking to them, and is coming back again. We have heard
that He is building His church. The gates of hell shall
not prevail against it. We have heard that there is a holy
reality in these days. We have heard about your God."
What have they heard about your God? That the church
is split over where you live? That people find fault, back-
bite and gossip? Let's pray until they hear about our God!
Until they hear about His power, and love, that makes
you love everybody; until they hear about His grace that
is unsearchable and past finding out; until they hear
about His power that is able. to do abundantly, exceedingly
above all that we can ask or think! What have they heard
about our God?
She said, "I have heard about your God. I have heard
He never leaves you nor forsakes you. I have heard in
drought He feeds you, and gives you drink. I have heard
He is with you always, even until the end of the age.
I have heard He is coming back after you again one of
these days. I have heard about your God." She said, "Men,
I am sitting here in a city that is going to be destroyed.
I am sitting here in walls that cannot protect us, and I
am looking across the river· at your camp. I hear the
ram's horn blown by the priest every morning and see
the smoke of the incense arise from the tabernacle of
your congregation over there. I think how God promised
Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob that He is going to bless
you. And I hear about what happened to Moses and Joshua,
your commander-in-chief. The tears run down my cheeks.
I look up and say that I wish I could be part of that crowd.
They are going to win and we are going to lose. They are
going to overcome and we are going under. They are going
on and we are going to be stopped. I don't want to be
part of this crowd. I want to be part of that crowd over

on the other side. Do you reckon I could ever be part of
that crowd? Do you think there is anyway it could be
done?"
GO AND TELL
I live in a perishing-, dying world. In a world that is
going to be burned up. I live in a world that is going
down. I live in a world that is going to be perishing with
the antichrist. I live where the fashion and the flower
of the earth is going to pass away. But I have heard about
a crowd in another country. I have heard about a crowd
in another land. I have heard about a crowd that is
going to walk in robes of white. .J h.ave heard about a
crowd that is purified and made holy; a crowd that is
washed in the blood, cleaned up and glorified; a crowd
with their names written in the Lamb's book of Life; a
crowd that is going to walk in a city' that is coming down
from heaven.
I have heard that they have streets of gold, walls of
jasper and gates of pearl. I have heard that there is no
night there; that they are going to wipe away the tears
from their eyes; that the leaves of the tree are for the
healing of the nations; that the Lamb, Himself is the
light of that city and they are going to walk in the light
of the Lamb. I have heard about tha,t crowd. This world
is going to pass away arid the fashion" thereof. I want
to be part of that crowd and walk with those people!
Rahab said. "Could I be a part of it?" They said, "You
surely can:" That was the best news she had ever had in
all her life. I think she got to thinking, "I'm living in
this dying city, and you are going back where the ram's
horn is blowing, the incense is burning, the manna is
coming down. You are going back where the supern'atural
is in operation and you are leaving me here. How do I
know I am going to get out? Couldn't you give me some-
thing to guarantee I will get out?"
THE ONLY REMISSION
They said,- "This red rope is getting us out. We are
going to slide down this rope and get away and the king

can't do a thing about it. You hang on to it. It is getting
us out, and it will get you out. Hold on to it." From that
day, Rahab became a fanatic about a red tope. She took
a red rope with her wherever she went. Everytime you
saw Rahab, .she had a red rope. They said, "That woman
has gone crazy about a red rope." I can see her friend
saying, "Rahab I broke down my wagon, I'll take this
old red rope and go out and tie it up." She said, "Pal, I'll
give you anything I have, but you can't have my red rope.
I might need it before you get back."
clothesline broke down, here I will just borrow this red
rope." She said, "Friend, I will give you anything I have,
but you can't have my red rope!"
I can see her neighbor running in and saying, "My
By the power" of the Spirit of God, the resurrected
Christ lifted up His hands and blessed them and was
received up .to heaven, received into a cloud. Before He
went back He said the Spirit that raised me from the
dead is going to be poured out upon you. This resurrection
power got me out of this world. Kings could not stop me.
Herod could not hold me, Caesar cannot restrain me. The
legions cannot restrict me. I am leaving and there is
nothing they can do about it. Now I am going to give it
to you. You hold on to it. The same power that got me
out of here will take you out one of these days! Hold on
to this same power, it will get you out of here!
People will say, "Oh, forget about your ideas~ You
don't have to be so narrow minded. Just drop it, and
come on and have a big time with us." Neighbor, if I
could help you I would get down on my hands and knees
to .do it, but you can't have my red rope! You haven't
got a party big enough. You don't have a prize costly
enough. You have not got a position enticing enough to
make me sell my red rope. This power got Him out and
it will get you and me out.
WAY OF ESCAPE
What if you needed your red rope this minute? Where
would you get it? How long would it take you to get .in
the Spirit? How long would it take you to get in the move

and get the move in you? How long would it take you
to get going to touch the throne, to find the Master?
How long would it take you to get hold of your red
rope if you needed it suddenly? If the call should come
right now?
They called her a fanatic but I'd like to know how
the story came out. It doesn't end here. That is all we
hear about it here, but I just turn on over in the Book
a few more chapters and found where it said, "And
Rahab and her family were saved alive and behold she
dwelleth with Israel until this day." Whoever wrote the
Book said, "The last· time I saw her she was over there
with God's crowd. She was over with the victor's crowd,
where the glory was. The rest of them went down, but
she went up.
When they finish writing the story, if somebody happens
to say, "Well, whatever happened to the evangelist?" "The
last time I saw him, he was going through a cloud!"
How is the story going to -end with you? How are they
going to end it? Where are you going to be when the
walls are coming down and the mountains are moving
out of their place and the kings of the earth are hiding
themselves from Him that sits upon the throne? What is
the story going to say abo~t you? They said, "The last
time I saw her, she was leaving here. She was moving
out!"
Brother, I want to be one of that crowd, don't you?
I want to move out when they move out, don't you? Right
here and now I feel God speaking to us so strongly.
Rahab was willing to break traditions. She was willing
to become disloyal to her nation. Somebody says, "Do
you mean to go against your own nation?" When your
nation does not belong to God's program, when your
crowd does not belong to God's program, when your family
does not belong to God's program, brother, it is time to
break! It is time to break and line up with God's program
and go with Him. God help us to do it!
You may say, "My church never did do it that way."
What has method got to do with the message? It is the
message that matters. In this hour I want to get hold

of someone that is going to have victory while the walls
of this world are coming down. May God move upon us
in this hour.
CHAPTER III
THE CRIMSON LINE
Rahab said, "I know that the Lord has given you the
land." (Joshua 2 :9).
That is faith. She believed in the finished work. She
said what God said. He told Joshua, "I have given you
the city." Joshua had a title deed to the city. No wonder
he could shout before the walls fell. No wonder he could
shout the walls down.
The Bible teaches a finished work. "I am the Lord that
healeth thee." "By His stripes you are healed." "Himself
took our infirmities and bare out sickness." Healing is an
offered gift. It is not a promised gift, but a finished work.
Salvation and the Holy Ghost are offered gifts. If Rahab
were living today, she would say, "He has given us all
things that pertain to life and godliness."
The fear of God fell upon Rahab. Fear is healthy and
constructive if it is a godly fear. Jesus appealed to fear
when He said it is better to lose a foot or hand than to
be cast into hell.
The whole duty of man is to fear God and ke~p His
commandments. (Eccle. 12) The fool hath said in his
heart, There is no God, there is no fear of God before
his eyes. (Ps. 14:1). I would rather be heaven-scared
than to be hell-scorched. The people in America need
godly fear that will make them afraid to stand in God'si
face, breathe His pure air, and blow it back into His
face full of nicotine.
FAITH COMETH
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the
word of God." (Romans 10 :17)
Rahab had heard about the wonderful works of God.
No doubt, some personal worker had brought literature
to her house, if they had literature in those days. Perhaps

they called over the wall to her and- told her about the
goodness of God. They didn't stand back and wait for a
call and 'say that they didn't have anything to do for
God. They did what they could.
The reason the house filled up at Capernaum, and the
lame man was healed after he was let down through the
roof, it was noised abroad that Jesus was in the house.
Had it not been noised abroad, no one would have come.
(Mark 2:1).
The multitude came together on the day of Pentecost
because it was noised abroad. (Acts 2 :6). It was not
noised abroad because they were there: but they were
there because it was noised abroad. If it had not been
noised abroad, no one would have been there and no one
would have been saved.
If Elijah were here and no one knew it, there would
be no one at the meeting. We are all the Lord's witnesses.
He tells us to go and tell and make known His deeds
among the people. Jesus cannot return until this' gospel
of the kingdom is first published to all the world. (Mark
13 :10). G~d. gave the word and great was the company
that published it. (Ps. 68:11).
Elisha ministered to one man. Naaman was healed.
Naaman was the, only leper healed in his day. That hap-
pened because a little captive maid was willing to witness
to one person. (II Kings 5 :2).
Andrew didn't have a big crowd to witness to. But he
went out and told his brother about Jesus. That brother
became the Apostle Peter that turned the world upside
down and filled Jerusalem with the doctrine.
A man had a revival. Seemingly, there was was no
result. Just a little red-headed, freckled-faced boy was
saved. That boy became D. L. Moody, that rocked the
Christian world and won thousands of souls to Christ.
We will go and tell the lost about Jesus or their blood
will be required at our hands, and we will have to answer
for their sins. (Ezek. 3 :18-20).
Someone told the woman with the issue of blood about
Jesus. Faith comes by hearing. A great miracle followed.
Someone told the lame man at the Beautiful Gate

about miracles. Faith was created in his heart. He was
made whole. Thousands of people found Christ as a result.
Ananias ministered to' ~ne man, but this one man was
Paul and he changed the whole Christian world. Isaiah
went to one man. This king received a miracle and shook
a nation.
DISCOURAGE THE DEVIL
God told Joshua to be strong and of good courage. He
told him not to be dismayed or afraid' for the Lord was
with him everywhere he went. (Josh. 1:6) . In turn,
Joshua taught the spies to be of good courage. Joshua put·
this into practice before, when he came back with the
good report and with the bundle of grapes. He said he
was able to possess the land.
It was found that the spies were encouraged and the
people inside the city were discouraged. Their hearts had
melted within them even before the walls' fell. God's
people shouted and then the walls fell. They said, "God
hath (past tense) given us the city."
Too many people let the devil discourage them when
they should discourage the devil. The tool in hell that is
worn the most and has been used the most, is the tool of
discouragement.
The next time the devil jumps on your shoulder and
tries to discourage you, just say to him, "You are a liar
and you are the father of lies." Say to the demon of dis-
couragement, "You are the son of a great liar." He will
go back to hell, where he belongs, and tell the old father
liar that you have discouraged him.
Rahab told the two men their God is the god of the
"earth beneath." She had more faith than many church
members today that feel that God is somewhere up in the
sky on a journey in some far-distant land, or out in outer
space.
The word of faith which we preach is nigh unto thy
mouth. (Rom. 10 :8). He is a present help in time of need.
He will never leave thee nor forsake thee."
Rahab wanted the' men to sware by the Lord that she
would be saved. In other words, she wanted a word from
the Lord. She was not Interested in words which were the

 mere products of organizations, schools, or theologians.
She believed that the true God could speak to His people
today. She was not so much interested in tradition of the
elders, theology, ritual, membership, or hear-says. She
wanted a revelation from the Lord.
We have people today that believe God reveals things to
His people in our times. We have others that pray because
it is custom or tradition. The Moslems can do the same
thing. We see why Rahab was put in the list with the
heroes of faith in Hebrews chapter eleven.
Rahab asked for a true token from the Lord. She
received it. God has always given the same token :-the
scarlet line. . Suppose Rahab did not feel like shouting someday. Sup-
This token was not membership, changing her church
letter, making a decision, mental belief, restitution, or
her self-righteousness. It was the scarlet line. 1n this she
was saying, "I have no goodness to depend on. I trust
alone in His goodness. It is not what I have done for Him
that saves me; it is what He has done for me. It is not
by my stripes, but it is by His stripes."
We have a true token today. God cannot lie, (Hebrews
6 :18). His spirit beareth witness with our spirit. We
rest on His promises as Rahab did. He that believeth
not God, has made Him a liar. He that believeth that Jesus
is the Christ, hath everlasting life. (John 5 :24). We are
justified because we obey and trust in the finished work
as did Rahab.
Obedience changed Rahab. She became a new creature.
All things became new. Old things had passed away. (II
Cor. 5:17) The blood speaketh today. (Heb. 12:24).
God accepted Abel's sacrifice because it represented
the blood. It did not represent his own works. Cain's
sacrifice left off the blood. It represented his own good
works. Cain was rejected, as thousands of church mem-
bers will be rejected in the judgment. They trust in their
membership, and in their righteousness instead of trusting
in God's righteousness and the finished work.
Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of
sins, (Heb. 9 :22). We must all go the blood ,route or
be lost.

RED ROPE
They tell me in one nation, in their navy, all the ropes
have a red thread running through the center to identify
the rope. They tell me that a certain breed of cattle has
a little red blood mark. By this it is known that they are
pure bred. All others are rej ected.
Our fellowship is in the blood. (I John 1 :7). We do not
accept anything else as a basis of fellowship, such as
baptism, membership, moving your letter, resolutions, cir-
cumcision or keeping of days. If you are saved by the
blood, you are my brother, so give me your hand. We are
in the same church. We are God's children.
pose she awoke with a headache. Suppose she was tried,
tempted, tested or persecuted. Suppose one day she was
discouraged or dismayed. The scarlet line was still there
in the same window. It was there the same as if she
were shouting, singing, jumping or rejoicing. All she
needed to do was to keep that scarlet line in the window.
Whether you feel 'good or feel bad, the blood has been
applied to your soul just the same. If we walk in the light
as He is in the light, the blood of Jesus Christ, God's son,
cleanses us from all sin. (I John 1 :7) .
RAHAB'S FAMILY
God's men promised Rahab by the word of the Lord
that if the family stayed in the house where the crimson
line was that they would all be saved. She evangelized
her own family and saw them converted.
They did not trust in their righteousness, kindness, edu-
cation, friendliness, business honesty, good works, citizen-
ship, race, denomination, creed, or church membership.
They trusted in the scarlet line-the true token.
She had the same revelation that Peter had when he
said, that there is none other name given under heaven
whereby that men may be saved except the name of Jesus.
Noah warned his own family and saved them. God's
grace is as powerful today as it was then.
Andrew first found his own brother and told him about
the true Christ. His brother became the leading apostle
and soul winner,-Simon Peter (John 1 :41).

 Joshua knew that God had promised him his family.
He said, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
(Josh. 24 :15),
Man is· the head of the family. He is the high priest of
his home. If we train our children in the way that they
should go, they will not depart from it when they get old.
(Prov. 22 :6).
Paul said to the Philippian jailor, "Believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house."
(Acts 16 :31). He and his whole family was saved that
very night.
An angel of God came to Cornelius and said in effect,
"God is sending you a man who will tell you how you and
all your household may be saved." (Acts 11 :14). They
all became Christians because Cornelius believed the mes-
sage. He saved his whole family. ' The same line that was used to let these men over the
An angel said to Paul, "God hath given thee all them
that sail with thee." Paul believed and saw them all
saved. (Acts 27 :24). If God ever did that, He can do it
again.
The unbelieving husband can be saved by the chaste
conversation of his Christian wife, if she will be led by
the Lord in all that she says. (I Peter 3 :1). The unbelieving
husband is sanctified by the believing wife. (I Cor. 7 :14).
Brother and Sister House prayed, "Regardless of the
cost, save our whole family." It cost a lot. Their boy
rebelled against God and killed a man when he was twenty-
one years old. He died in the. electric chair. Just before he
went to that chair, he looked up and told how he was
ready to meet the Lord. He had trusted in the scarlet
line.
You can pray, "Regardless of what it takes, save my
home, my boy, or my daughter." It may cost a lot, but it
is better to lose a foot, or a hand, or an eye than to go
to hell fire and brimstone. (Matt. 5 :29). Claim these
promises and start praying. Recognize God's hand when
He begins to work.
OUR BUSINESS
The men of God said that is was their business to
save the lost. It is our business now. A printer's business

is to print a book. A carpenter's business is to build a
house. A merchant's business is to sell merchandise. A
farmer's business is to raise a crop. A Christian's business
is to point men to a Saviour.
They pledged their lives for Rahab's life. They said, "Our
life for yours." The blood of the wicked· will be required at
our hands if we do not warn them. (Ezek. 33 :6-8).
Stephen was willing to give his life for his testimony.
John the Baptist lost his life for telling the truth. Moses
told the Lord to either forgive the people or to take his
name off the book. (Exodus 32 :32). Paul could wish
himself accursed for his brethren. (Rom. 9 :3). He was
willing to trade places with them. He daily gave his life
for the gospel. (I Cor. 15 :31). He had the Spirit of Christ.
Christ actually traded places with me.
wall to safety also saved Rahab. (Verse 15). We are
all saved alike, through the scarlet line. The same blood
saves all people who repent, regardless of their denomi-
nation.
Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of
sin. The Christian's home is marked. The blood atones
for our sin. God told His people if the blood was over
the door post, they would be saved. There was no other
way of salvation. (Ex. 12 :13).
One girl could have believed that the blood had been
put on the doorpost. She could have depended on her father,
brother, mother or preacher to put it there. She could
have been sincere in her belief, but unless the blood was
there, the death angel would have taken her. (Ex. 12 :23)
Don't depend on signing a card, making a New Year's
resolution, or moving a letter. Don't take mother's word
for it. Don't depend on the preacher's word. Do like
Rahab. See that you are under the protection of the crim-
son line.
People may have remembered what Rahab did last year,
last month, last week, but she is under the crimson line
today. That is what counts. You may remember what old
sister Whoopindiddle did last week. But God may have
forgiven her last night. The present is what counts.

 One lady said, "God doesn't love me. I have been so bad."
I reached over and touched her head and said, "You are
free through the anointing of the Spirit, through the blood
of Jesus." The blood was applied to her sinful heart, and
in three minutes she was saved, filled with the Holy
Ghost, healed and delivered from devils. She was singing
in a night club the night before. That is the kind of God
I am serving.
Jesus said to an adulterous woman, "Neither do I
condemn thee, go and sin no more." (John 8 :11). He
said to a poor fallen woman, "Thy sins be forgiven thee."
(Luke 7 :48). He said to a sinful Samaritan woman, "I
will give you the living water." He cast out seven devils
from a woman who was very lustful. He set her free.
Those very kind of women went with Him in the evange-
listic work. They ministered to Him of their substance.
(Luke 8 :3). Peter said, "That which God has cleansed,
call not thou common." We are saved by grace and not
by race. In every nation, or denomination, he who works
righteousness, is accepted of Him. (Acts 10 :35). He has
no respect of person.
. UNDER THE BLOOD
Stay in the house where the scarlet line is. (verse 21)
Anywhere else, you will be attacked by evil spirits of
insanity, suicide, disease, murder, rape, discouragement,
despair and death. It is dangerous to stay away from the
scarlet line.
If you remain under the blood, the devil can't touch
you. If your boy asks for an egg, you will not give him
a scorpion. If he asks for bread, you will not give him a
stone. If he asks for fish, you will not give him a serpent.
If you know how to give good gifts to your children, how
much more does your heavenly Father know how to give
the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him? It is because they
are under the blood. (Luke 11 :10-13).
I will be responsible. If you are under the blood, the
devil. can't touch you. If you ask for the Holy Ghost or
healing, you will not receive the wrong spirit. Look up
in confidence and receive now. Satan can't cross the scarlet.
line.

The men of God were saved by the scarlet line. The
persuers were sought for by the enemy, but they were not
found. (verse 22). They were in a safe hiding place. They
were safe from the judgment. They were protected because
they belonged to the scarlet line crowd.
If you don't want the devil to get after you, then don't
be a witness. If he leaves you alone, it is a good sign
that you are pleasing him. If he is after you, that is a good
sign that he doesn't have you. He is not after the people
that he does not have.
A GOOD REPORT
The two witnesses carried the message to one woman,
a harlot. Many people will not work for God unless they
can have a crowd of a thousand or two. They think they
are not doing anything for God unless they are big with
a big church in the limelight.
These two men took a good report to Joshua. (verse 24).
They said, "God hath delivered them into our hands." They
saw that Rahab was under conviction, that her courage
was gone and her heart had melted within her.
I remember when I was under conviction so heavily
that I had no courage to do anything. It seemed all I did
was a failure. I did not feel like working or doing anything.
That is the very way that Rahab and all her people were.
They had a feeling that their doom was sealed.
These messengers could have carried back a different
report. They could have had a spirit of self-sympathy.
They could have said, "We had such a hard time. We were
chased by the devil. We barely escaped death. We had to
sacrifice. so much to be out on the field."
They took a good report back. They said God had given
the land to them .... past tense. They saw the victory
ahead. They knew the victory had been won. That was
an offered gift.
VICTORY MARCH
The children of God marched silently six days. The
seventh day they marched seven times. They shouted and
yelled, "God has given us the city." They said what God
said. They had the gift of faith.
Walls fell inward to destroy all the enemies of God's

geneology of Jesus Christ. She had trusted in the scarlet
line. Sh~ was in the lineage of Christ. She was the great-
grandmother of Jesus, our Lord.
We are marching today. We are saying, "God has given
us this world. This world will become the kingdom of
Jesus Christ."
The whole world will be destroyed by fire. We will be
delivered. We will dwell with God's people who will rule
and reign with Christ forever.
.The· elements will melt with a fervent heat. All the
waters will turn to blood. Men's tongue will consume in
their mouth, their flesh will consume on their bones. Theil"
eyeballs will consume in their sockets. Millions of demons
will be turned loose on this world. The moon will turn to
blood. The sun will refuse to shine. The stars will fall from

Eternal judgment will fall on men.

There is only one way to escape. That is: trust in the ITIIII

scarlet line. At that great day the Lord will not see your
church membership, your good works, baptism, confirma-
tion, church letter, confession or good name.
He will know if you are born again, if you are a new
creature, if you have had the blood applied to your soul.
Are you trusting' in the scarlet line? If you don't know
Jesus, you may know Him today. Heavenly Father, in the
