COVID-19 standard operating

procedure for MSME workplaces

Key Objective
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 amongst

else who enters your premises, thereby reduc-


ing the jeopardizing impact on livelihoods while
simultaneously ensuring business continuity.

Sanitization & Decontamination


All areas across the premises shall be disinfected
completely on a mandatory basis and sanitiza-
tion levels should be reviewed consistently.
These include entrance gates, cafeteria and
canteens, meeting rooms, open areas, pieces of
equipment, lifts, washrooms, water points,
walls/other surfaces, etc.

Workspace measures
Provisions for handwashing & sanitization
should be made at all entry and exit points and
common areas, preferably in a touch-free
manner.
Every individual at the premises is to undergo
thermal scanning. There should be a strict ban
on Gutka, Tobacco etc. and spitting should be
prohibited.

Social distancing
Workplaces shall have a gap of one hour be-
tween shifts and stagger lunch breaks. Meetings
of 10 people or more are to be discouraged.
1 METER
Seating at least 6 feet away from others and not
more than 2 to 4 persons (depending on size) are
to be allowed to travel in lifts or hoists.

Medical Insurance & Facilities


Medical insurance for workers is to be made

a must-have basis.
Hospitals/clinics in the nearby areas, which are
authorized to treat COVID-19 patients, should
be identified and this list should be available at
the workplace all the times.
