TO CHINA WITH LOVE

I am Maryam Mateen from your neighbouring country Pakistan. I have been hearing
stories about your cordial gestures towards my country since my childhood. You have always
been our worthy friend and I hope you will keep on supporting us forever no matter what the
circumstances will be. I am writing this letter to tell you about the common views of the
inhabitants of Pakistan. According to us you people are very genius. Since your independence in
1949, you have been making phenomenal progress and after seven decades you are emerging as
an economic super power in the world. This is the result of many good qualities and habits that
Chinese people have adopted. For instance china has offered equality for all its citizens. Starting
from the president Xi Ping to a common peasant in china, all are equal. If an ordinary Chinese
peasant uses a bicycle to travel to his home so will the Prime Minister Li Keqiang. This concept
and example of equality and brotherhood is one of the best in the history of mankind. Chinese
government offers monthly stipends and funds to the needy so that nobody feels himself
inferior to others. One of the reasons of China’s remarkable advancement is the anti-war ideas
of her people. Chinese have promised themselves not to indulge their country into any warfare
because according to them war is organized murder and nothing else. It leads a country to
ruination. We Pakistani women admire Chinese because they give extra social and domestic
rights to their women. the great Chinese leader mao Tse Tung once said: “Women hold up half
the sky”. This provision of rights urges Chinese women to return their country in a way that they
work hard and participate in every activity alongside men. the second reason of china’s
glamorous success is her priority to herself. For instance china doesnot use western products.
Instead she makes her own for export purposes and for the use of her people. China also did not
give up her national language i.e; Chinese to be replaced by English as the official language. They
prefer their native language over foreign languages. The third reason for their progress is that
the unemployment rate in china has dropped to only 4%. There is a plentiful supply of workers
in china with a steady stream of rural urban migrants in search of work. Migration of the rural
population has been accompanied by aggressive re-planning schemes in which rural areas are
demolished and new manufacturing settlements are built at a rapid pace for former agricultural
families to move in to. One main reason of Chinese astonishing progress is their strong
leadership. This factor has contributed a lot to china’s economic success. Chinese politicians are
said to feel a greater responsibility to the nation than to themselves. The government has built
many new roads. Improvement in the rail system has also been observed. The rivers of china
have also been made navigable all around the year. The government has made efforts to
improve the literacy rate too which currently stands at 95%. This has upheld the economic
development of the country. China is now ranked as the world’s largest consumer of energy, the
largest exporter and economy. Some Pakistanis have been thinking that soon, due to china’s
growing economic might, the US dollar would be replaced by Yuan as the global currency.
Moreover, Chinese is known to be the language of the future instead of English. The friendship
between Pakistan and china is exemplary and well-lknown around the world.the seeds of this
exceptional relationship were first sown by Pakistan when in 1950, we became one of the first
countries to recognize the people’s republic of china. Pakistan also supported China’s
membership in the United Nations. The result of Pakistan’s efforts can be seen today that China
is a Veto Power in the UN. Such gestures of goodwill by Pakistan have sown the seeds of love
and respect in the heart of Chinese people. China also began its military assistance in 1966 and
is now Pakistan’s 3rd largest trade partner. Recently both nations have decided to cooperate in
improving Pakistan’s civil nuclear power sector. Both states have started mutual projects such
as Karakoram Highway, joint design and fabrication of JF-17 Thunder aircraft and China Pak
Economic Corridor commonly known as CPEC.
