Mythic Yoga Flow ® is a soulful journey to ignite magic in your body, mind
and heart with the stories and practices of yoga. Learn the myths and legends
of warriors, deities, sages, animals, heroes and heroines of the yoga tradition.
In this mythopoetic experience, yoga asana is activated and enlivened with
myth, mantra, mudra, music, meditation and the realms of inner magic. Each
class features a special guest deity to welcome you into the sacred pilgrimage
of your body temple, awakening the power of metamorphosis from deep
within.
Mythic Yoga Flow is Sianna Sherman’s signature vinyasa offering, where the
elements of Tantra come to life in a creative and dynamic asana flow. This
is a fluid-form experience with alignment skillfully infused into the garland of
practice, weaving poses on the thread of the breath. You are guided on an
alchemical journey where the dance of soma and psyche are at play. Be

Body Temple Prayer

Body Temple Prayer is a devotional movement and breath practice infused
with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra. Sourced from the Rig Veda, India’s
most ancient sacred text, the Gayatri Mantra is a sonic embodiment of the
Goddess Gayatri, the divine manifesting principle of rhythm, tone, vibration
and wisdom. The Gayatri Mantra honors the Solar Deity as the source of outer
and inner illumination.

Myth
Ganesha, the Lord of New Beginnings, is the son of Shiva and Shakti. He has
the head of an elephant for wisdom and a broken tusk for the transformation
of obstacles into opportunities. Ganesha represents the power to dissolve
obstacles in the mind and free the heart into the sacred play of life.

Asana
A foundational practice for all yogis to learn basic standing poses, twisting
poses and basic backbends with optimal alignment to support a healthy spine
and open mind. The sequence begins with Ganesha Namaskara and builds
to a playful Ganesha apex pose called Vakratundasana, which means the
‘twisting, turning trunk of the elephant-headed God.’

Myth
Lakshmi, the Goddess of Love, rises from the churning of the ocean and reveals
the way of abundance, harmony and deep soul beauty. Lakhsmi is the power
of Grace and the remembrance to call home the exiled parts of the Self. The
innermost radiance of the Self is born from the depths of One’s Being.

A progressive sequence of standing poses and backbends to strengthen the

begins with Lakshmi Namaskara and cultivates the opening of the heart and
builds to the apex pose of Eka Pada Urdhva Dhanurasana, which represents
Lakshmi rising out of the Ocean of Love.

Myth
Saraswati is the Goddess of the Arts & Sciences, the flowing one of creativity,
inspiration, intuition and wisdom. Her nature flows like water and she dances
on the tip of the poet’s tongue. Saraswati helps release stagnancy that blocks
the creative flow and abides in the 3rd eye with clear sight from within.

Myth
Agni is the God of Fire who blazes bright and is the messenger between humans
and the gods. As the governing principle of digestion and transformation, Agni
ignites the alchemical process and helps digest life experiences. The yogi
offers up resistance into the fire and builds the vajra body of unshakeable trust
and unshakeable confidence.

Asana
This is a fiery sequence that builds the core with low belly power and a strong
navel chakra. The sequence begins with Agni Namaskara and works with a
block between the inner thighs to build the midline power. The poses target the
abdominals and build to the arm balance apex pose, Eka Pada Bakasana 1.
Be ready to work hard and laugh along the way.

Myth
Virabhadra is the most formidable and unconquerable of the all the warriors.
He was born from the wrath of Lord Shiva when he threw a lock of his hair
to the earth in fierce rage. Virabhadra carries an unfathomable weapon and
whenever he appears on the battlefield, everyone flees immediately. No one
can match his fury and strength.

Durga is the Goddess who rides a tiger or lion into battle. She is called the
flaming one, the fortress and the invincible one. She is the fierce power of love,
strength and courage required to defeat the stubborn ways of ego. Durga calls
forth true community and the sense of belonging to each other in a shared
circle of power.

Krishna is the Dark One, the God of mischievous Divine Play and the All-Loving
One who stirs Universal Consciousness with his flute song. Beloved friend and
Divine Lover, Krishna is a thief in the night who has no care for the walls built
around the heart and steals you away to the innermost abode of pure love.

play and a progressive build up to drops backs with Urdhva Dhanurasana. It’s
a sacred playground of asana, breath and creative moves.

Nataraja is the God of Cosmic Dance. He is the form of Lord Shiva as the King
Dancer of the AnandaTandava, the dance of Bliss. His form is a map of the
5 acts of life: creation, sustenance, dissolution, concealment and revelation.
When Nataraja breaks out into ecstatic dance, all the worlds come to life.

Myth
Hanuman is the Monkey God who is the Son of the Wind and the Breath of
the Heart. He is the embodiment of Devotion and Service, the heart of Bhakti
yoga. Hanuman’s story is told in the great epic of the Ramayana where he
is the devoted servant of Lord Ram, The epic leaps of Hanuman to the Sun,
across the ocean and into the Himalayas are some of the most celebrated
stories in yoga mythology. These are the heroic leaps of the human heart in
service to the greater whole.

This practice teaches one of the most famous yoga poses, Hanumanasana,

spirals of the hips and legs to access the full pose and incorporates creative
variations of Haumanasana. A full form of Hanumanasana with a backbend is
offered at the end for advanced practitioners.

Gayatri is the Supreme Goddess of the mantra of Universal Light. She has 5
heads and 10 eyes to see in all 8 directions plus the Earth and Sky. She is
the activating energy to shift dullness and lethargy into the awakening forces
aimed for Spiritual Illumination. The story of the 2 great sages, Vasistha and
Vishvamitra, tell the initiation of the Gayatri mantra through true humility and
the most pure desire to awaken.

Kali is the most wrathful and fearsome of the Goddesses, with no patience
for the ego’s attachments or delusional states of mind. She is the face of the
feminine as Freedom and she uses her swift sword to cut away falsity and
manipulation. She is total fierce love and goes the distance to help us choose
Radical Honesty and Radical Authenticity.

Tara is the Goddess of Compassion and the Mother of all Buddhas. Her name
means ‘Starlight’ and ‘the One who traverses.’ She is endless compassion
and protects all beings through spiritual enlightenment until every last being is
liberated. She is the ultimate Mother Goddess who refuses to leave any of
her children behind.

The Buddha is the legendary being that shows the way for true Awakening and
Enlightenment. Buddha means ‘The Awakened One’ and is the term used for
Siddhartha Gautama after his awakening under the Boddhi Tree. The legend

play is the process of integrating consciousness within us and their alchemical
union is the path of yoga.

begins with Shiva Shakti Namaskara and sammelana forms that intermingle
the opposites and invoke the alchemical union within. Bound standing poses,
deeper backbend variations, inversions and seated hip openers combine into
a spicy fusion of asana, mudra and the love play of the breath.

Sianna Sherman is an internationally renowned
yoga teacher, community activator, evocative
storyteller, festival presenter and a passionate
