Foster Care: Aging Out Survey
● Topic: The interviews will determine gaps in the transition process from foster care to
adult-life for individuals without a biological or adoptive family. The questions will
detect the strategies that result in a successful transition to adulthood, the role that the
child welfare systems plays, and the possible issues that need to be addressed. A large
proportion of the TAY interview questions will contain several standardized scales and
will cover a wide range of areas. Social and emotional well-being will be addressed using
the Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI). Lifetime experiences will be
measured with the Restrictive of Living Environment Scale (ROLES). Interviews with
service providers will analyze policy effectiveness and the amount of support given.
