2.1. When people want to define language, it is common for them to easily confuse it with
other concepts such as grammar, written language or thinking; In the video, Professor
Pinker talks about that, explain in his words how or why language is not exactly those other
things.
• The interpretation of language is often confused with the fundamental bases of language
branches, but its use in terms of morphology makes rigorous thinking difficult, for this
reason ambiguous expressions do not make sense and are more difficult to understand, what
can impair communication between speakers to what they do not reason to what should be
taken into account.

2.2. In a very concise way and according to the video, say what language it is.
• It is clear to say that the language present in the video is native English.
2.3. According to the video, explain what concept is developed with the famous phrase of
Noan Chomsky "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously."
• The concept that can be made known from this phrase is that it is meaningless that it does
not have a logic as such, to which they explain that it is like a salad of words, making the
syntax not entail a linear idea.

2.4. What is the basic explanation of the fact that a person speaks a foreign language with a
specific accent?
• The fact that this happens is that a subtle distinction of meanings, dialects in which they
have their own set of norms as sophisticated and complex as that of the standard language,
are not part of the phonology formation norms, they also depend of the words in which a
certain word appears. When a person learns a second language and takes the phonological
norms of the first language and applies them to the second language, it is called an accent.

2.5 Although computational linguistics has made great progress, what have been some
typical linguistic difficulties for computers to process human language?
• The linguistic difficulties that usually occur in these technologies is that the machines or
computers do not know how to relate the context, the behavior of the interaction in human
relationships, for which they make mistakes when they make us know a translation or the
meaning of or set of sentences.

3. Create three more questions and give your respective answers also depending on the
video.

1. what is language?

The language is:

• Distinctive
• Essential
• Mysterious
• Practical
• central to human life.

2. Because when babies start communicating, they often confuse grammatical times?

• Children memorize the prayers they usually hear from their parents or from people
who usually live in their surroundings, and from here they generate combinations, which in
some way incorrectly combine the grammatical structure, so they tend to confuse the times
what makes them manifest your own rules.

3. What is the science in charge of language?

• Language science is linguistics, which is a complex discipline that presents itself as

a window to human nature because language is an essential part of life and as we manifest
it every day.
