Greetings!

We are the Nationwide Organization of Visually-Impaired Empowered Ladies (NOVEL), an

organization of women with visual impairment. Our group is working on the full development,
advancement and empowerment of persons with disabilities particularly women and girls by
promoting their human rights in all platforms including the right to decent work and employment.

In 2019, we were tapped by Leonard Cheshire Disability Philippines Foundation Inc.

(LCDPFI) to be their partner organization in implementing a Voice Project entitled Strengthening
DPOs/CSOs and facilitating disability network of employers for the promotion of the
economic rights of persons with disabilities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and
Bohol.

One of the activities of our project is to conduct a baseline research on cities and
municipalities in NCR and Bohol that will map stakeholders vital in the effective promotion of equal
employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. NOVEL is designated to survey companies
from various industries located in National Capital Region that will gather information on the
businesses’ current situation in terms of employing persons with disabilities. The enclosed
questionnaire is designed to collect data that will be used also to formulate strategies on how to
strengthen engagement between the government, civil society organizations, organizations of
persons with disabilities and the private sector in addressing the gaps and advancing disability
inclusion in the workforce.

In line with this, we are humbly requesting to conduct a survey and/or interview with your
recommended officer to discuss this initiative further. Rest assured that all your responses will be
kept and treated with utmost confidentiality and will not be used for other purposes not stated in
this letter.
