To Whom it May Concern, 4/30/2020

This letter of recommendation is in support of Ivari Sfarijlani in the role of School Counselor.

I have known Ms. Sfarijlani for over two years, whereby I worked with her as a part of our learning team in the capacitance of
Attendance Specialist, as well as mentor. During this time, Ms. Sfarijlani demonstrated a consistency of character with excellence
towards developing systems and structures to support all students’ maximal attendance at school. Ms. Sfarijlani set goals for
students, and then supported the implementation with positive incentives, continuous feedback, celebrations, as well as
encouragement, accountability, and corrective feedback including family/team members as needed. Additionally, it was also during
this time that Ms. Sfarijlani set her own professional goals to continue her learning and work towards her School Counseling degree
while working full-time.

I began mentoring Ms. Sfarijlani during the Fall of 2019, when the previous Counselor transitioned to a new role and school. What I
appreciated about this transition with Ms. Sfarijlani was her initiative she took to connect with me to explore the possibility of
continued mentorship within the same learning team to ensure continuity of care for all of the students, families, as well as her
colleagues. Additionally, during this time of discussion, Ms. Sfarijlani welcomed clarity of communication to ensure I would be able to
fulfill the requirements for her program as well as share desired outcomes, possible obstacles as well as challenges given the duality
of her role with other colleagues, and agree to components for a successful partnership for both individuals. She demonstrated
patience, as well as compassion, in acknowledging the new role for myself, allowing me to truly do my homework to know what I was
going to be responsible for to ensure her School Counseling Internship was robust and advantageous for her learning objectives.

From September through December 2019, I was able to observe Ms. Sfarijlani attend our weekly Counseling meetings with our
Principal to share students of care and concern, attend weekly Clinician meetings to discuss our Tier-2 and Tier-3 students with
needs, collaborate with one of our Special Education teachers to lead a positive leadership Girls Group for our 7 th grade students
during their lunch, continue mentoring our young black female students in the My Sisters Keeper program, support a Naviance
curriculum training with staff, collate data, and meet weekly with myself to go over her requirements, reflections, and case studies.
Ms. Sfarijlani’s ability to understand the community she supports is an exemplary asset she shares with each person she encounters.
She demonstrates respect for both her colleagues as well as community partners and really desires to know more, grow, learn, and
help others in whatever she puts her hands to do. Ms. Sfarijlani’s follow through, dedication, and commitment to the counseling
profession born out of a love for people, while affirming struggles, challenges, gifts, strengths, positive attributes as a part of each
individual story, is a true gift to observe unfolding. She sets clear, high expectations for herself, as well as others, and ensures the
commensurate support, encouragement, incentives, connections, and people are there for a successful outcome for all.

From January 2020 until present, Ms. Sfarijlani has been actively supporting Elementary School students at a school in the Seattle
Public School District. She has remained open to growing her practice and demonstrated risk-taking by working with younger
students outside of her previous experience. Ms. Sfarijlani has thrived in this community, and has begun implementing Kelso’s Choice
for students in the learning community, with collegial support including her Administrator. When she faced a complex student case,
she worked closely with her Administrator as well as support staff, advocating for the students well-being with such a patient
perseverance, that led to a positive outcome for that student in the long-term. Ms. Sfarijlani demonstrates a positive awareness
around the importance of balance, as well as boundaries, when it comes to communicating with people who may know her
personally as well as professionally. Overall, I strongly recommend Ms. Sfarijlani for a school counseling position as a part of a team
in which she adds value, growth, learning, and collaboration for all members in community. Please do not hesitate to contact me
should you want further information in support of her candidacy.

With Appreciation,
