P1 Applying appropriate frameworks analyse the impact and influence of the


macro environment on a given organization and its strategy.
Unilever is a british based multinational company who operates its operation from London, UK.
Beverage, food, energy drink, ices cream, beauty products, personal care products are the Unilever core
product.

The strategic context:

Vision: Vision is a future condition of an organization. Vision clears the future (5 to 10 years) position of
the organization. Vision can achieved by 10 years hard work and also there are needs enough resources
to achieve the vision. Continous achievement can bring the vision. Unilever vision is to grow their
business, to separate the environmental mark from their growth and increase the reputation and
positive social impact. This vision will not achieved by 1 or 2 years. There are need 5 or more than that
years. Vision is depended on the mission and objectives of the organization.

Mission: From vision perspective mission set. Mission is the day to day work of an organization. If an
organization regularly completes the mission, on day organization will make the vision in the reality. The
pices of small mission make big vision. As the Unilever vision is to grow their business without any harm
in the environment and make a positive social impact. Mission will design center on the vision. After
complete 5 or 10 years mission Unilever can achieved the vision.

Objectives: Smaller steps of the organization activities are the organization objectives. Day to day tasks,
projects and services are the parts of the objectives. Objectives are the smaller supporting elements
which support the organizational goal and goal support the overall mission. As example, Unilever facing
complain from customer for customer services. Here Unilever goal is to increase the employees
customer service skill. To increase the customer service skill Unilever objectives are hiring professional
employees, makes classes for employees, train them, etc.

Based on this vision, mission and objectives organization makes strategy. This strategy helps
organization to achieve the vision and mission. SO now question is, ”what is strategy?”

According to Kenneth Andrews strategy is a set of patterns which makes policies and plans to achieve
the goals, objectives and purpose. Business strategy makes to achieve the business goals, mission and
convert those mission into the vision. To make a business strategy organization should follow strategic
management theory. To make an effective strategy organization should follow some step such as plan ,
ploy, pattern, position, perspective. Strategy has some roles to achieve the business objectives and
goals. Here are given some roles of strategy:
