Re: 2020 State Convention and Candidate Ballot Disqualification/Forfeiture

Request for Consideration – CD1

To Whom it May Concern:

As stated in the Utah Republican Party Bylaws (as amended on 2-29-2020)
“7.5 I, 1. Only Republican candidates who have properly filed for elected public
offices as required by law and meet the requirements of the Utah Republican
Bylaws shall be considered by the Convention.”
“8.0 A. Candidates who wish to obtain the nomination of the Utah Republican
Party to run as a Republican . . . will (1) comply with the rules and processes set
forth in the Utah Republican Party Constitution and these Bylaws, . . .”
“8.0 C All Party candidates . . . who attempt to qualify for the primary ballot through
any method not explicitly defined in the Utah Republican Party Constitution and
these Bylaws will automatically forfeit their Party membership two days following
the State designated candidate filing – period deadline.”
Pursuant to the Constitution and Bylaws it is hereby requested that you consider only
candidates who are in compliance with the Utah Republican Constitution and/or its Bylaws as only
such candidates “shall be considered by the Convention” i.e., candidates who are not, should not
have their names on the convention ballots for delegate ranking votes, as they have forfeited their
Party membership. As one candidate who complied with the Constitution and Bylaws as agreed
to in the Candidate Certification, and who received 83% of all votes cast for CD1 Convention Only
candidates, I would request your consideration of these rules and circumstances as you nominate
and otherwise declare Republican candidates for partisan offices to the primary ballot and election.
