PT ASTRA INTERNATIONAL – HONDA

PT Astra International - Honda (Astra Motor) is one of the Astra companies International
engaged in operations with Honda motorcycle products. Established in 1970, under the name
Honda Division, Astra Motor was once the main Honda motorcycle distributor. At present,
Astra Motor is playing dealers who cover eleven regions (regions) throughout Indonesia. The
regions include : Palembang, Bengkulu, Central Java, DI. Yogyakarta, Bali, NTB, Pontianak,
Balikpapan, Makassar, Jayapura, and JHC or AMJ.

Astra Motor, also known as Honda Sales Operations. Astra Motor is a brand that is carried as
the face of the company in a relationship with current customers, Astra Motor is led by Sigit
Kumala as CEO of Astra Motor replacing Margono Tanuwijaya who was transferred to
AHM. Astra Motor has two lines how to establish relationships with its customers, the first is
through dealers,
the second is through a sales office coordinated in the Astra Motor retail division.

As one of the main dealers, Astra Motor plays a role in coordinating everything marketing,
logistics, and including promotion activities in the region. Astra Motor has a region- region
which is led by region head as the highest leader in the region. These regions regularly
coordinate and interact with Astra Motor Head Office located in the Astra International
complex, Jakarta.

At that time, PT Federal Motor only assembled, while the components were imported from
Japan in the form of CKD (completely knock down). The first type of motorcycle
manufactured by Honda was a business type, the S 90 Z 4 stroke engined with a capacity of
90cc. The number of production in the first year for one year was only 1500 units, but it
jumped to around 30 thousand in the year and continues to grow until now. Motorcycle
continues to develop and become one of the mainstay modes of transportation in Indonesia.

The government's policy in localizing automotive components pushed PT Federal Motor to

produce various Honda motorcycle components in 2001 domestically through several
subsidiaries, including PT Honda Federal (1974) which produced basic components of Honda

motorcycles such as the frame, wheels, mufflers and so on, PT Showa Manufacturing
Indonesia (1979) which specializes in producing shock absorbers, PT Honda Astra Engine
Manufacturing (1984) which produces motorcycle engines and PT Federal Izumi Mfg. (1990)
specializing in producing pistons.

Along with the development of economic conditions and the growth of the motorcycle
market there was a change in the composition of share ownership in this Honda motorcycle
manufacturer. In 2000 PT Federal Motor and several subsidiaries were merged into one under
the name of PT Astra Honda Motor, whose composition of ownership was 50% owned by PT
Astra International Tbk and 50% owned by Honda Motor Co. Japan.

Currently PT Astra Honda Motor has 3 assembly plant facilities, the first factory is located in
Sunter, North Jakarta, which also functions as the head office. The second factory is located
in Pegangsaan Dua, Kelapa Gading, and the third factory which is at the same time the most
up-to-date factory is located in MM 2100 West Cikarang, Bekasi. This 3rd factory is the
newest assembly plant facility which began operating in 2005.

With all these facilities, PT Astra Honda Motor currently has a production capacity of 4.3
million units of motorcycles per year, for the increasing demand for the motorcycle market in
Indonesia. One of the peak achievements achieved by PT Astra Honda Motor was the
achievement of 20 million production in 2007. This achievement

is the first achievement achieved by the motorcycle industry in Indonesia even at the ASEAN
level. Globally, the achievement of Honda motorcycle production of 20 million units is the
third, after Honda motorcycle factories in China and India. To support the needs and
satisfaction of Honda motorbike customers, when PT Astra Honda Motor is supported by
1,600 sales dealer showrooms that are coded H1, 3,800 service or AHASS (Astra Honda
Authorized Service Station) workshops with H2 code, and 6,500 spare parts outlets or H, who
is ready to serve millions of uses of Honda motorcycles throughout Indonesia.

The motorcycle industry is currently a large industry in Indonesia. PT Astra Honda Motor's
employees currently number around 15,000, plus 130 vendors and suppliers as well as
thousands of other networks, all of which have an extraordinary chain economic impact. The
entire economic chain is expected to provide employment opportunities to around 500

thousand people. PT Astra Honda Motor will continue to work to produce fun, safe and
economical 2-wheel transportation facilities in accordance with the hopes and needs of the
Indonesian people.
