Installation
Install Indico Encoder under active directory administrator or local administrator account.

After installation the Indico Encoder must start up and must be written into autorun programs.

Setup encoder
To set up the Encoder click Encoder icon and select Property tab page.

General
Double click on TCP/IP Remote Control Unit.

IP Address shows the IP address of the computer where Indico Encoder is running. You can choose a
port to listen.

Double click Text overlay property. This sets an option to insert duration and/or date into a video file. By
default this option is disabled.

Default position for overlay is suitable for 720x576 resolution video profile. For other profiles it needs to
be adjusted.

Working directory
Working directory shows local location where recordings are saved. Double click working directory
property.

Set saving directory and click OK.

Audio
This property sets an audio source. Double click on Audio capturing card.

Select audio capturing card and click OK.

Video
This property sets a video source. Double click on Video capturing card.

Select video capturing card and card input type (composite, s-video, serial digital in) and click OK.

Encoding
This property configures video encoding quality. Double click on Video encoding field.

Select one of available video profiles. (In current version are used 3 profiles: DVD quality video, Film
content video and High definition video).

Networking
This property allows configuring database and active directory connection and setting authorization
method.

Double click Authorization property to set authorization method. Select active directory or database
credentials and click OK.

Double click Database property to configure database connection. Input database IP address, database
server name, database name, database login and password. Click OK to save changes.

Double click Active directory property to configure connection. Input active directory domain, username
and password. Click OK to save settings.

Monitor
Its supervisor part, where you can see system CPU usage, network upload and download speed, active
and uploading sessions.

Troubleshooting
Trouble shooting is used for tracing all possible connection errors, database error and capturing errors.

Sessions
Double click on sessions. Here are shown all archiving or uploading sessions, total snapshots and
bookmarks amount for every session.

Select one archiving session. Status is active. Check archiving path, total snapshots and bookmarks
amount. Duration timer is ticking. Live streaming means if it’s possible to playback recording on site as a
live stream. (Pause cannot be used on live streams).

Select one uploading session. Status is uploading. Check uploading path.
