SPEAKING TOPICS (grade 11)

.
Topic 1: Talk about what kind of conflicts you get into with your parents
* Gợi ý
My children:
- watch too much TV
- don't help with housework
- dress badly and have ugly hairstyle
- spend too much time on their mobile phones and computers
My parents:
- don't respect my privacy
- criticize my appearance
- want me to follow in their footsteps
- always tell me what to do
- don't like my friend
Ex: Well I don't like the way my parents criticizing my appearance. They don't like my jeans and T-shirt….
When I was young, my parents were willing to play with me or tell a story before I went to bed. At that time, I
did not know that they were too busy. But now, my parents provide me everything I want, except time with
them. They have to work from dawn to dusk. And they just come home when I’ve already fallen asleep. I know
that they want the best things for our family. Everyday I do boring things such as studying alone, eating alone,
playing alone… and I feel solitary. When I have trouble, there’s no one lend a sympathetic ear and help me get
over the difficulty. I want I and my parents can watch movie and drink coffee together every Sunday. I wish
they will reduce their work and spend more time with me.

Topic 2: Talk about a problem that you have had with your family’s members, your teachers or friends.
+ What was the problem?
+ How did you deal with it?
+ Who did you ask for help?
+ What advice did they give you?
* Gợi ý:
My parents always blame everything on me. I’m 17 and I’m the oldest in the house and I just really don’t want
to live at home because I’m over all the stupid arguments that are caused over silly little things. It’s like I’m
treated so different compared to my siblings. I have a 16 year old brother who is working full time and my
parents treat him and give him much more respect than what they give me. I am currently studying at NBK,
and I have heaps of home work to do and i just don’t help out around the house because I’m so busy. But my
parents make me, yet if my brother has a hard day at work, they let him sleep and rest. To me I think I get
treated unfairly and I am really upset by it. I need some advice from counselor on forum on how to get my
parents to understand my situation without causing an argument. The counselor advised me to tell my parents
about my point of view, that I don't think they are treating me unfairly and added it is really important during
this time to focus on my study so that I don’t have to do much housework. Moreover I should let my brother
know that I really need his support right now for my study as well as share duties in doing the housework

Topic 5: If you have a chance to travel to one country in ASEAN, which country will you choose? Why?

* Gợi ý:
If you have a chance to spend my summer holiday in one of the ASEAN countries., I'd like to travel to Hue, our
ancient capital in the Central of Vietnam.

Hue was the capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty and is one of the cultural cores or our country. The
city lies on both sides of the Huong River (the Perfume River). In this ancient city can you find the palaces,
pagodas and houses built on the same principles as the Forbidden Palace in Peking. Hue is also famous for its
royal tombs, the tombs of the former emperors. It has been said these tombs are Hue ‘s most spectacular tourist
attractions. And another fantastic attraction to tourists is the boat trip on the Huong River, especially on the
moonlit nights. I can spend and enjoy the quiet and peace of the night time on the boat listening to the poetic
songs of Hue’s singers. Besides these, I can also enjoy the quiet and poetic atmosphere of the garden houses of
ancient architecture. Coming to Hue, I will enjoy Hue’s specialties such "hen" rice, banh xeo (rice pancake
with shrimps and herbs).
People in this old royal capital are said to be friendly and hospitable

Dear Lauren,
I'm very happy to know that you'll be staying with my family for two months. We live in a four-bedroom flat on
the 15th floor. You will have your own bedroom for your stay here.
You asked me about our family rules. There are three important ones that we must follow.
One important rule in my family is that every member of the family has to keep his or her own room tidy. My
brother and I have to make our beds every morning, and clean the floor and windows twice a week.

Another important rule is that my brother and I must be home before 10 p.m. My parents are very strict and
believe that setting a curfew will help us become responsible, and stay sale and healthy.
The third important rule is that we mustn't invite friends to stay overnight. This is not only our family rule, but
also the rule for ail people living in the building.
If you have any questions, please let me know. We will try our best to make you feel comfortable during your
stay with us.
I hope you will enjoy your time in Viet Nam.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Best wishes,
Ha

Unit 4: Write an article of 160-180 words, about a problem facing children with cognitive impairments, and the
solutions
* Bài viết gợi ý:

Nowadays, while a lot of students live and study in good physical conditions, there are still many students
with visual impairments. They are facing a lot of discrimination in life. They may feel that they are treated less
fairly than normal students because of their disabilities. In regular schools, they cannot fully participate in
school activities and often left behind.

What can we do to help them overcome their problems? First, people should pay much attention to them
and know what they need. They have different learning difficulties! However; that does not mean that they
cannot learn. Therefore, schools should provide them with specialised materials and tools such as Braille or
large print books, talking computers or materials with large print. By giving them these things, we can help
them learn better.

Second, there should be more close contacts between students with visual impairment and non-disabled ones.
They should be put in a cordial atmosphere to work in groups! People should create an atmosphere of
friendliness, respect and acceptance during all activities at school. When working together with students with
visual impairments, people will fully understand them and may recognise the talents hidden inside them. This is
the thing that all people in our society should do.

It is necessary for all people to give students with visual impairments more opportunities in life, and should
intergrate them in our community because they are part of our society. Better understanding of students with
visual impairments and more contacts between non-disabled people and disabled people will help students with
visual impairment overcome their difficulties and create a more positive attitude towards them.
